Just that really! 26 month old DD takes 30-45mins to fall asleep in cot. Most days last week she had long nap. Still awake at 9-9.30pm. Yesterday had 10mins in car - asleep by 8! Surely it's a no brainer!! Just need to convince OH & childminder!

How long does your 26 month old nap for?

dd is 23 months, but yeah, I I let her sleep when she wants to.
I don't care about her fitting in with a routine, she'ss spent so long not sleeping she can sleep all she wants.

My nearly 25mo will nap for 2-2:30h at that time, sometimes later and always goes to bed at 7-ish and sleeps til 6-ish.

oh annd she goes to sleep at about half 9, wakes up at 12ish, back to sleep till 4ish then awake for an hour or two then sleep till 8 or 9.
she's always done short sleeps but we just stopped worryying.

I wonder what the NHS guidelines are for 4 and 5 year olds as my dd would still happily have an afternoon nap if she could.and she's just turned 5. Thought word on the street was those that nap well sleep well.

Most children that age will nap between 1 and 3 for a couple of hours. My eldest did.
