If you had a truly terrible, and I mean earth shatteringly awful, sleeper, did it ever improve? WHEN for goodness sake?

Ds (7.5mo) is definitively The Worst Sleeper In The World, Ever. Needs to be slung or fed to sleep for naps. I then cannot move or he wakes instantly. Doesn't sleep in pram or car seat. Zero self settling skills. Takes ages to settle at night and then wakes multiple times through the evening. We cosleep to preserve the shreds of sanity I have left. Please, for the love of god, tell me it gets better.

DS cracked it when he turned 2. We tried leaving him to cry, baby whisperer, everything!

What worked was not giving him a BF before bed and getting DP to sit with him till he fell asleep.

You have my complete sympathy, dark days indeed.

My DS first slept a whole night aged 4, nothing really works for a poor sleeper. Routine helps, blackout blinds help, day naps help a bit, going to school helped alot. Me going to bed early on a few nights helped the most. At 5 he sleeps in a double bed as he moves around so much he falls out of a single even with cotsides. Somethimes he still wakes up. Your baby may not be like this though but don't worry if they are, they are just made that way and it will pass, honest!!!!!

Seems like there are a lot of breastfeeders on this thread Confused. Can any formula feeders reassure me that your child is just as bad?!

Thanks for all the sympathy btw, even if you are all persisting in telling me what I don't want to hear Wink.

Oh, and for those of you who have more than one child, are your others better sleepers?

I don't think it has anything to do with breast/formula feed.
