Pass Sanitaire for 12-17's in France

Does anybody know if the app certified antigen tests bought in the UK and taken over to France, like those offered by www.c19testing.co.uk/rapidtravel would be accepted for a Pass Sanitaire in France, if taken daily for British 12-17 yr olds?

They give you a QR certificate and say they're "Approved for use by the EU".

Just thinking it might be safer to take some of these with us, rather than relying on getting appointments at the pharmacy in resort.

All the discussion I have seen says this will not work for 12-15. The QR code they give is not readable by the European system for the PS. But you can use for entry to France or return.

16+ can get nhs covid travel pass anyway so are good to go providing double jabbed.

ncski · 09/12/2021 07:56

Okay, thanks.

Apparently if your teen is double jabbed, if you can get paper proof (like a printout from doctor) you can take it t a pharmacy in France and they'll grant pass sanitaire certification (for a few)

ncski · 10/12/2021 12:14

That's what i've heard, and I've also seen this one which even offers a health pass if your child is single jabbed but has also had Covid.

www.pharmasolaise.com/tests-covid-28.html

They don't all appear to be aware they can do this though.

You can book your antigen test appointments in the resort pharmacies before you leave.. on www.doctolib.fr/

poshme · 12/12/2021 10:44

@ncski apparently that's officially only available for French people. But who knows what they might allow if you're paying...

freckles20 · 12/12/2021 21:27

Thanks for his @ChateauMargaux. Have you used the link? My French isn't good enough to follow it but I'm sure I can get round it.
Is the idea that you previously oct test at your nearest pharmacy (daily for my 14yo)?

thillanddale42 · 13/12/2021 08:12

If you go on to your resort page, you should find their link for any testing sites. We are Tignes and I've had to book my two in for testing daily via the link on their tourist office page - done evening appointments. But that was two weeks ago. Am going to see if I can get the older one double jabbed before departure..... hoping they can all have their own pass on their own phone (ordering a portable charger otherwise that'll be a right PITA if I have to keep everyone's PS on my phone )

thillanddale42 · 13/12/2021 08:13

But apparently no to C19 tests in resort as mentioned above due to non working qr code 🙄

NotDonna · 13/12/2021 11:07

Are French kids 12-15 double vaxxed? If not getting all these kids tested daily is going to be a nightmare isn’t it?

NotDonna · 13/12/2021 13:07

I’m just answering my own question… apparently 80% of over 12’s in France are fully vaccinated. So the only ones needing the tests are overseas tourists. Should make the queues a tadge shorter!

TheExtraGuineaPig · 13/12/2021 13:12

Yes - practically all European countries (in fact all developed countries I've heard of) have been vaccinating 12+ for months. This is why travel with teens seems so hard for people from the U.K.

NotDonna · 13/12/2021 14:16

I keep reading in here that it’s ‘daily testing’ but I’ve not seen any formal verification of this.
I’ve just found this in Club Meds website suggesting testing every 72hrs…

Club Med Safer Together… We have introduced new safety procedures in our resorts:
To access our resorts in France (West Indies included): The french sanitary pass will be requested for adults and kids aged 12 years and above. Accepted documents include: a complete vaccination certificate (7 days after the final dose for Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca vaccine; 28 days for Jansen), a negative test (PCR or antigen) done less than 72 hours or the result of a positive test that proves your recovery from COVID-19, it has to be more than 11 days and less than 6 months old.

Slashtrophe · 13/12/2021 15:40

The Tignes page says :

For English people aged between 12 and 17, it is possible to obtain a health pass:

Either by having had the Covid + 1 injection (within 6 months)
Or by being tested negative every day

Does that mean they only need the one?

NotDonna · 13/12/2021 16:04

The tricky bit is proof of having COVID for u16’s as they can’t access the nhs app. There’s a few threads about that on the holiday section with some ideas of how to get proof via GP etc. My youngest can’t prove this so it’s the testing on-site but I can’t find anywhere legitimate that says daily, 48hrs etc.

ChateauMargaux · 13/12/2021 16:41

La validité des tests RT-PCR et antigéniques pour le « pass sanitaire » est ramenée à 24 heures depuis le 29 novembre 2021.

The validity of RT-PCR and antigenic tests for the "sanitary pass" has been reduced to 24 hours since November 29, 2021.

ChateauMargaux · 13/12/2021 18:02

@NotDonna .. tagging you to read my post above.. as you have mentioned this on a number of threads.. pass sanitaires based on PCR or antigen test are only valid for 24 hours, source.. gouvenrement française... Club Med information is out of date / misleading / wrong..

NotDonna · 13/12/2021 19:41

@ChateauMargaux thank you! I couldn’t find a legitimate source. Everything goes out of date rather rapidly. I’ve no idea if they’ll be testing centres available in Club Med Valmorel. They’re not very forthcoming with information. It’s so frustrating that we have been unable to fully vaccinate our 12 year olds ready for winter.

freckles20 · 15/12/2021 10:04

@NotDonna I'm finding it hard to get correct and up to date information from our chalet company too.

They keep trying to reassure me that they think rules will change and a testing centre may open locally (atm the nearest one is two resorts away). But I think they are being overly optimistic at best and trying to fob me off at worst.

Really frustrating, if it was up to me I'd have cancelled and forfeited our deposit but DH wanted to 'take the risk' and had now paid in full....

NotDonna · 15/12/2021 12:13

@freckles20 is there a tourist office in your resort? Or a pharmacy? I’ve contacted both for our resort. The pharmacy has given me their number to book tests at €25 a go.

ChateauMargaux · 15/12/2021 15:02

@freckles20.. where are you going.. maybe I can look for information from here in France..

freckles20 · 16/12/2021 07:51

@ChateauMargaux and @NotDonna . Thanks so much for your help. I'm a bit worried typing where we are going as it's a small place and I've recently listed some outing things about my family....

There is no pharmacy in resort. But I've done some digging and found out that the doctors surgery will be releasing 20 test slots a day from this Saturday. So I am going to try to book daily slots for my son via the doctolib system- although I'm nervous about navigating it!

Interestingly there is quite a bit of tension on local Facebook groups. Some people feel that those connected to tourism are being over optimistic and vague about the details of how to get tested.

They are saying that maybe French authorities have made testing sparse and expensive in order to encourage their own nationals to get vaccinated rather than rely on testing. Then this flows through into it currently being hard for tourists to get daily tests.

Tourist information is incite to and lists several places where either antigen (lateral flow) or PCR yes are available. However, having contacted these places they have confirmed that they are only doing PCR tests, which have a 24 hour turnaround so won't work when you need one every 24 hours, and the result is only valid for 24 hours.

I am not sure if this is true. I absolutely respect that France has every right to set whatever rules they want to. It's just a bit frustrating atm as information isn't very clear.

TheElderleyBrothers · 16/12/2021 07:57

I have had this from the pharmacy in our resort after my enquiries due to the pharmacy in Tignes mentioned on another thread.

For my single vaccinated and previously Covid infected child.
MaterMetella · 16/12/2021 08:52

In very very sorry to say that it looks as if France are about to introduce a need to have a 'compelling reason' to enter France + test & quarantine on arrival. We're due to go and my son's 18th was going to be out there. Very sad. Have a look at Katy's Adler on Twitter.
