Pass Sanitaire for 12-17's in France

Does anybody know if the app certified antigen tests bought in the UK and taken over to France, like those offered by www.c19testing.co.uk/rapidtravel would be accepted for a Pass Sanitaire in France, if taken daily for British 12-17 yr olds?

They give you a QR certificate and say they're "Approved for use by the EU".

Just thinking it might be safer to take some of these with us, rather than relying on getting appointments at the pharmacy in resort.

@ncski

That's what i've heard, and I've also seen this one which even offers a health pass if your child is single jabbed but has also had Covid.

www.pharmasolaise.com/tests-covid-28.html

They don't all appear to be aware they can do this though.

Thanks this is really useful information. I'm not sure how to get proof from the NHS my 15 year old daughter has tested positive and had one jab though. All the info online is for over 16s.

I think everyone’s plans are going what’ve to be reviewed. We are due to go out for three weeks or so in the New Year but it looks more uncertain now.

British tourists to be banned from France from Saturday

Thank you to everyone who has shared this. I've read the article and it doesn't specifically say we can't go on holiday- implied but not definite from what I can see?

To be clear, I kind of wish that it did! I would rather cancel and rebook another time when it won't be so hellish. But understandably the rest of my family want to go as they are all fully vaccinated, so I'm under pressure to make it work for my teenager which is enormously stressful. I don't blame them at all.

I'm very sorry to other people who are going to be devastated by this.

cansu · 16/12/2021 10:04

I have just read the news and basically tourism is not classed as a compelling reason to travel and is therefore not allowed.

FingonTheValiant · 16/12/2021 10:29

If you read the French version it’s very clear that tourism isn’t allowed.

NotDonna · 16/12/2021 12:11

@freckles20 it’s very much no Brit tourists allowed. The hoops to jump are for french nationals/those with compelling reasons. So very very disappointing isn’t it? Your tour company will be reimbursing you though so maybe you can book for a later day. We are now trying for Italy 🤞🏼

freckles20 · 16/12/2021 13:59

Thank you very much for this it's really helpful. Our tour operators are holding back on refunds saying that things might be fine by the time we travel!

We travel on the 22nd of January. Does anybody know how long these current restrictions have been declared for? Or is there even an end date?

It's quite frustrating to not know whether we can go or not and because I wake up because that stops us re-booking.

FingonTheValiant · 17/12/2021 14:29

@freckles20 no end date announced as yet. Sorry.

freckles20 · 17/12/2021 16:39

@FingonTheValiant thank you for clarifying that. Do you have an opinion (I won't hold you to it) as to whether an 'end date' is likely to be announced?

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Chalet company won't refund until they know for sure that we can't go. But, if we are able to go it's likely DS will need daily supervised LF tests which are scarce and would involve a long bus ride- so I wanted to book these in case they are needed. Otherwise he won't be able to get tested, so can't go on any lifts, on a bus, taxi or use a bar or restaurant.

MissAmbrosia · 17/12/2021 19:36

I've just seen a report that in the NY - the pass sanitaire will become a Vaccine Pas with no negative tests allowed anymore. That they will not accept the unvaccinated putting others at risk. Not sure this is passed in to law yet, but it doesn't seem restrictions will relax - in fact things will go the other way. My friends daughter has just started a winter season in Megeve. She has had to sort with them to get a booster shot as she wasn't yet entitled to one under the Belgian rules but as of January everyone over 18 in France will need to have one.

FingonTheValiant · 17/12/2021 20:08

@MissAmbrosia yes it’s going to become a vaccine pass. But it won’t apply to under children yet as they are adamant that vaccination for children shouldn’t be mandatory. You have to have had the booster within 7 months of second dose, from January, and from now for the over 65s.

@freckles20 I’d be astounded if it’s lifted by Jan 22nd. But if the number keep going up here they might decide it’s not worth the effort.

General view amongst colleagues here is that the government won’t take further action before Christmas as they don’t want to be unpopular so close to the election. But that after Christmas further restrictions will come in.

TheElderleyBrothers · 20/12/2021 22:09

@TheElderleyBrothers

I have had this from the pharmacy in our resort after my enquiries due to the pharmacy in Tignes mentioned on another thread.
And today successfully got our pass sanitaire €36. Were not asked for it on the lifts but have been asked in one restaurant this evening.
TheElderleyBrothers · 27/12/2021 19:45

And to follow up on my last post. The pass sanitaire was requested in bars and restaurants all over the resort if inside. We didn't get asked outside. The mask requirements were not followed through on chairlifts, gondolas etc. But it was so quiet it was unusual to queue or share a lift.
