Should we have a childrens ski clothes pass on thread, for all those who are going and want to kit out cheaply, and for us who have grown out gear??

I have seen loads on threads asking about places to buy ski gear, but I have some which is now outgrown and would be happy to pass on/sell for postage or whatever. BUT it is not in the same vein as the 'for sale' boards, so I wondered if we should start a thread on this??

I know I have a few bits for 3 - 4 yr olds, without checking I think I have some black salopettes, a pink ski jkt, a blue and grey all-in-one (v unisex so useful, bought from MN a couple of years ago!!) Actually I have 2 of the all-in-ones, but I wouldneed to see if DD2 fits the larger one, if not I have one in aged 2 - 4 and one in aged 4 - 6. Also have a couple of gap polo nucks that we used as base layers in age 4. May have some gloves too.

Perhaps if anyone has other grown out bits they should post here to pass them on. Ski stuff is hardly ever worn out and is pricey to buy all new. It is bad enough buying the thermals/gloves/goggles/hats/socks without the outer layers too.

For accessories I got stuff from Sainsburys (£5 for ski-gloves) and ASDA. They seemed to be the cheapest places.

Only justseen that you're looking for stuff for a 3-4 year old otherwise I wouldn't have put this on ebay. But feel free to bid

Wallace · 19/10/2007 09:14

had forgotten about this. haven't been in attic yet!ws

Nbg · 19/10/2007 09:29

Well Wallace if you have anything for 3/4 years let me know!

Had a mosey in TK Maxx yesterday and their selection was dire!

crunchie · 21/10/2007 17:51

OK got the suitcase out and I have

2 x C&A all in ones, one sized 92/98, one 104/110. Approx 2 - 4 and 3 - 5 years I think. My DD2 wore the larger one at 5, but she is a small 5 IYKWIM. Matching suits in light blue with grey. Pretty unisex tbh. I know boys had them before my girls had them

1 x H&M Black salopette with elastic braces. Size 104, age 3-4 yrs.

1 x H&M mid pink jacket size 110. Aged 4 - 5. (Again DD2 wore this last year aged nearly 6) Nice jkt but no hood, however they all have to waer helmets so hoods are pointless!! Alos good as a school puffa jkt as doesn't look quite so 'ski' wear.

1 x Millets snow boots. Pink with whiye fur trim size 29 (11) but quite small tbh. DD was really only a size 9 when she had these, now she is a 10 - 11 they are too small with the thick socks.

That little lot would pretty much kit out a 3 - 4 yr old for at least a year or even 2, jyst add thermal layers and gloves. You will also be advised to buy googles, hats and scarves!!

I would prefer they go in one parcel as they are bulky and I am lazy. I guess therefore £20 - £25 to include postage. I may also have a couple of pink polo necks If I can find them and dd's have grown out of them.

Got you crunchie

Ok
Will have the bigger c&a snowsuit, the h&m salopettes and pink jacket if thats ok.

We bought her some goggles from tk maxx last week so like you said, all we need is layers and hat and gloves.

The boots would be too big for dd as shes only a 7.

crunchie · 21/10/2007 17:58

OK how does £17 sound, it is the damn postage I am sorry. Please email me on tlpdwest at ntlworld dot com

Hi I am off to lapland for christmas with a small 14 month old still in 9-12 month clothes but walking so snowsuit with feet out. Does anyone have anything suitable? Last year it was -19.

Thanks

LizP · 23/11/2007 14:24

Anyone want any tiny moonboots - blue size 22/23 ? Just pay for poastage.

Hamax · 26/11/2007 10:42

I have various bits for little ones - vests, roll necks hats & gloves - if anyone is interested.

mejon · 27/11/2007 14:14

M2B0806 - I've nothing to offer I'm afraid as I'm in the same situation - tiny DD who will be 17 months when we go to Lapland in January. Just wanted to say that I was in H+M yesterday and they had very thickly padded all-in-one ski suits in the 0-18 section for £19.99 (no attached feet). They also had separates for 1 year+ but they were a little more expensive.

I do have some skiboots by Mammal - brand new (bought too soon and now too small for DD!!!) they're size 18/19. They are pale blue with black rubber soles and fleece-lined. Let me know if you are interested. (Or anyone else for that matter )

linsayevie · 02/01/2008 15:19

hello - is this thread still up and running? we're off to tignes with esprit in about 10 days - cannae wait!

DD1 is 3 and a bit (but quite small for her age). we have a good togz fleecy snowsuit for DD2 (14mos), and have bought cheap salopettes and a jacket for DD1, and some gloves and socks from tx maxx, but struggling to find snow boots (size 7 or 8) and thermals for a reasonable price

any tips, or anyone looking to clear out? much appreciated
xx

mejon · 02/01/2008 20:31

I bought DD's second pair of (correct sized!)snowboots from muddypuddles.co.uk - they were under £20. I've just checked their website and they have all sizes in stock. They also do thermals from age 2-3. As DD is too small for thermals, I've bought her some 100% wool tights and a wool long-sleeved vest to wear as her thermal layer. These came from cambridgebaby.co.uk but were also available from raindrops.co.uk. Not particularly cheap - but best I could find.

Sixer · 12/01/2008 23:48

sixer did you get the pictures?

TakeMetotheMountains · 22/01/2008 17:39

Folks, I have just joined up and wondered if anyone had any use for any of the kids skiing stuff my two have grown out of?
I have a pair of navy salopettes for age 4 from H&M, a Tchibo skisuit suit (grey/red/cream)for around 5 year old I guess (says 110/116), 3 pairs of ski socks and pair navy ski mittens again to suit that sort of age. Only interested in covering postage really.

TakeMetotheMountains · 22/01/2008 17:42

Sorry, me again. Thought you might like to know, if you go to Tchibo's online store, and use search facility, they come up with loads of stuff that is not currently featured but I guess they still have in their warehouse. I just bought 7/10 year olds new jackets and salopettes this way. Great value and good quality.

Sixer · 24/01/2008 23:20

Babalon, thanks for the pics. However, the DP picked up a pair from TK last weekend. Thanks anyway. So, please if anyone else is after salopettes....

Time5 · 07/07/2008 18:58

Hi I am interested in ski wear for 4-6 year olds if you still have any left. For a forthcoming trip for my son. I am happy to cover costs
