Getting a bit worried, we are going to Les Gets for new year, huge group of us in one chalet. What if there is no snow at all???

Does anyone have any decent intel on what is predicted/forecast for the next few weeks???

We are off to Arc 2000 on Saturday, flying from London City (new to us) to Chambery. Crack of dawn start, BA flight is at 06.45

Worryingly, DH is poorly, flulike symptoms, despite having the jab, aching joints. He is never ill. Why now?!. Fortunately DS2 will be driving us.

Anyone else on that flight or at that resort?

We were in obergurgl over Christmas (esprit) and whilst there was no snow in the village, 95% of the runs were open. No queues. Had a fabulous time. Highly recommend it

We have learned our lesson now, we ONLY go to high resorts. That being said, St. Anton always seems to have great snow, even when the rest of the Alps is suffering, and it's not that high!. I love St. Anton.

We are off to Saas Fee in Switzerland in a few weeks, they have had snow and people were being bussed in from other resorts over Christmas and New Year. Plenty of snow falling this week, hopefully it continues so we have blue skies and powder for when we arrive.

Hope you can see this, the valley cross country trail I went on this morning in St Anton, not what you'd call groomed but oh so pretty!

Raining here in Megeve and its due to continue doing so for the next two days!
The piste is already turning into a slushy mess.
It's due to get really cold next week and snow some more.
Hopefully conditions will be ok for when my DD skis on Monday with her classmates.
I find myself obsessively checking the weather forecast....

I'm in Val Thorens this week so be carefull what you wish for. The snow hadn't stopped for more than an hour since we got here and we now have too much. Some of the lifts are closed because we have a no.4 avalanche warning. It has been really misty so you can't really see where you are going. It will hopefully be better later on this week.

A friend of ours who spends most of the winter in the French Alps has come back to London this week because of the huge amount of snow & storms due this week, as it's no fun at the moment and the top lifts are closed due to high risk of avalanches. Next week should be great but this week not so much!

Val d'isere has amazing conditions this week!
