whatchoo been up to, Libra??

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 24/11/2009 19:54

Well I can't really remember as the post was over a week ago and I have only just noticed it was deleted. I think I might have included the phrase "you loon" but I meant it in a nice way of course.....

ah so you are none the wiser

email MNHQ see if they can shed some light, yes?

HelenMumsnet · 24/11/2009 22:17

Hi Libra

Actually, no, we don't usually email people to tell them their post has been deleted - although we always try to reply to everyone who reports posts to us.

Obviously, though, if you have a post deleted and have no idea why (not that usual, tbh!), you're most welcome to email us and ask. As gloriously competent and fair-minded as we all are at MNHQ , we have been known to press the delete button once or twice in error.

BTW, "you loon" probably counts as a personal attack, dontchathink?

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 25/11/2009 09:51

Well she posted in am I being unreasonable and asked a question, anything that disgreed with her opinion could be constituted a personal attack (for example I was called lazy on the ironing thread is that not a personal attack?) and calling someone a loon is fairly mild (if that was the reason which I am now presuming it was) as long as I also explained why she was a loon. Would saying you are crazy be better?

deleted posts are consumed in purgatory by wild screaming moldies harpies.

JustineMumsnet · 25/11/2009 11:39

Just clocked this thread Libra - in answer to your question we probably would delete the lazy comment if you reported it but we don't trawl the boards looking for things to delete - as a rule we only look at stuff brought to our attention. So the first filter really is whether anyone is sufficiently bothered by something to report it. If they do, then it doesn't really matter what the words used are - whether it's calling someone a loon, crazy or lazy, we are quite likely to delete it.

Hope that helps.
