Am being a Bad Girl

HecatesTwopenceworth · 15/07/2009 19:54

nope. Threads would make no sense if you had various posts missing. And you'd get the gist of what they were saying from the rest of the conversation. AND if you couldn't see the posts, you'd never know what they were saying about you.

And most importantly, I would hate to think people clicked to ignore me! I can't decide whether that makes me needy, paranoid or arrogant.

Lizzylou · 15/07/2009 19:54

Hmmm Doughnuts.......sugar highs are not to be sniffed at.

Wanker emoticon would be a very worthwhile addition.

But if you don't read it, how can you challenge it? I don't think it's ever a good idea to pretend certain opinions are not held - if you do, how can they ever be changed, or at least challenged?

NO.

Go to netmums where they lock threads, you can iggy posters, etc.

FenellaFudge · 15/07/2009 20:09

Oh I love the idea of ing.

May use that....

flowerybeanbag · 15/07/2009 20:11

This would be a bad idea. If you don't like what someone is saying and don't want to see it, avoid threads they are on.

If they come on a thread you are already on, either challenge them on whatever it is and make them justify/defend it, or if you prefer, ignore them completely and leave the thread. It should be perfectly possible to ignore someone without having MN do it for you.

If I knew that someone had ignored me I could post comments after each of their posts and they would wonder why everyone else was laughing

flowerybeanbag · 15/07/2009 20:18

Well yes, but I mean it should be possible to just ignore what someone is saying yourself without MN having to provide a function to tell your user preferences to remove what they are saying so that you don't have to see it.
