If you've got (or have ever had) a child aged over one and under four please take a minute to fill in our survey about toddlers

Everyone who fills in the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win a stack of fab Bloomsbury books. You'll also automatically be entered into this week's comps (which include amongst other things a fab holiday to Cornwall courtesy of our new partner Baby-friendly Boltholes or an LCD widescreen TV with built in DVD, courtesy of Morrisons).

If your children are now older, and you can still remember what they were like as toddlers, you are still eligible to complete the survey. If you have more than one child you can fill the survey in more than once (and have more chance of winning )

Here's the link again

Good Luck!

..hit Post too soon. Meant to finish that with:
Who at MNHQ do I need to incentivise to ensure I win?

Buda · 09/01/2009 13:33

Hi Waynetta! You don't need to incentivise anyone one as I am going to win!!!!

AmIOdetteOrOdile · 09/01/2009 13:40

Don't be greedy - surely we can share them (and make it an Irish clean sweep?? ) I fancy the weekend break (although I don't know whether I fancy sharinf a bedroom wih the 3 DSs....) What would you like?

Buda · 09/01/2009 13:43

Anything! I never win anything.

AmIOdetteOrOdile · 09/01/2009 13:46

Amapoleon · 09/01/2009 15:37

CatIsSleepy · 09/01/2009 16:22

blimey, i had tow own up to all my bad parenting

that was a bit harrowing

IdrisTheDragon · 09/01/2009 16:33

I ticked every source of tantrums as well I think.

Buda · 09/01/2009 16:37

I do still lol at remembering DS once when he was about 2. Had a tantrum about something and threw himself on the wooden floor and hurt himself. Next tantrum he carefully laid himself down on the floor and then started to tantrum. All I could do was laugh!

stealthsquiggle · 09/01/2009 16:41

Buda - classic quote from DD(2.3)

DD: inconsolable waiing
Me: "Stop that noise please DD"
DD:
"s'not noise, Mummy, my crying"

Buda · 09/01/2009 16:57

LOL stealth! They are funny sometimes aren't they?

pushchair · 09/01/2009 17:44

Done and wallowing in I'm a Bad Mommy mud pool.

Fennel · 09/01/2009 20:51

One of mine never tantrummed really, she's 8 now. She just retreats into herself, or sulks, instead. She's not angelic and wasn't as a toddler. Just not a tantrummer.

Mine (the other two) didn't tantrum for any particular triggers, they just did it. I didn't see an option for that on the survey.

DontCallMeBaby · 09/01/2009 21:42

DD is a prize sulker, Fennel, shouldn't be surprised as I was too. I had to think REALLY hard in that survey about what triggered her four or so major tantrums (aged 3, nothing at all at 2) as at the time I was far too busy thinking 'WTF is she DOING?' to make mcuh note of what had triggered it.

Oddly enough, DD's sulks are about 90% guaranteed to make ME throw a tantrum, SO frustrating!

SlightlyMadScientist · 10/01/2009 09:16

Why are we limited to under the behaviour when they were under 4?

I want to answer "now" (at aged 7) for the worst behaved stage of life to date for my 7 yo....I can't remember what they were like under 4 cos it pails into insignificance compared to owhat they are like now...I can't remember what they were like to do it retrospectively!

cariboo · 10/01/2009 14:04

Why are we limited to male or female toddler?

whitenoise · 10/01/2009 18:44

sms - its a toddler survey maybe that;s why

cariboo...

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 10/01/2009 19:01

done it

Klaw · 10/01/2009 21:04

done

thehairybabysmum · 10/01/2009 21:24

I thought 2-3 tantrums a week was pretty good...thought i was doing ok; but no, 2-3 a week is frequently!!

cariboo · 10/01/2009 22:10

wtf are you scowling at, whitenoise?

I have a boy & a girl, 3 years apart, each radically different during their toddler years & therefore the techniques I used with dd did not necessarily (if ever!) correspond with those I then had to adapt to use with ds.

Yes, from what I've experienced and seen first hand, male toddlers are different to female toddlers. Shall we debate this? I'd love to!

SlightlyMadScientist · 10/01/2009 22:32

Cariboo - in that case you fill in teh survey twice...once for the girl and once for the boy (and get entered into teh competitions twice!)

cariboo · 10/01/2009 22:35

Ohhhkay. I geddit. Thanks!

Diva0507 · 11/01/2009 15:42

done mine.

mrsmortenharket · 11/01/2009 16:21

done and dusted

tho i do have one suggestion.

for the discipline questions (and this seems to be true of most surveys) can you please include us single parents? i know for a fact that x has different discpline methods (and this has caused confusion for dd) but there is no provision for this type of answer!!!
