If you (still) feel the need to discuss Moldies, please do it here so folks can hide this if they want to.

Well hopefully the title says it all. There's been a suggestion, and we agree, that as we did with Baby P and the Mc Canns we just have one thread where anyone who feels they still have anything to add on this subject can post and those who'd rather move on can hide it away.

It feels strange to put this thread in site stuff as we are definitely not wanting to encourage further discussion of Moldies (we have presents to wrap too you know ) but we weren't sure where else to put it.

We will delete any new Moldies threads that are started, so please feel free to report them in case we miss any (what with wrapping the presents and all...)

And if you do want to carry on the discussion please remember that Mumsnet's here to make everyone's lives easier and not the reverse, and that Christmas is a time of goodwill to all mumsnetters past, present and future

Thanks,
MNHQ

PW

I used to be a 100 a day girl I'll have y'know. I'll give you occasional [affectionate thwack]

This is the biggest ever I think

Even bigger than when Mumsnet had an advert for [looks both ways] formula on the homepage.

Do I mean biggest, or most ridiculous? Excepting and accepting the people who are genuinely hurt by this, I have chortled a fair bit at a few things

MrJustAbout · 29/12/2008 21:46

I've just seen something that's potentially more painful than this thread - a child born at 14 pounds in the US.

your time will come , knickers, just you wait and see

SwedesInADirtyMacAndSunglasses · 29/12/2008 21:49

Moldies is really a Tupperware Party. Invitations are limited only because they anticipate a run on the rocket lolly moulds due to the weakness of Sterling against the Euro.

RustyBear · 29/12/2008 21:52

OK, this is weird - I can't get onto page 2 - the last post on page one is frasersmummy at 21.11- but I can post on it; I can see my post on 'Threads I'm on, but if I click on my post I just get dumped back to the end of page one.

it will be here before you know it , knickers!

MrJustAbout · 29/12/2008 21:57

Rusty, my guess is that the haven't planned for a thread over 2000 posts ever existing. The website will be made so that it generates the post lists we see automatically. In one-page format, it just stops at 2000?

Every time I have an opportunity to catch up on the row, to think about what I want to say etc, either I get interrupted or the thread jumps into fun chit chat and I don't want to spoil the party by going back to a row.

I don't want to insult any Mouldies who are still here as well or who may return at some point, but I do want to say I was offended too. Not just by the exclusive nature of the new forum, which I do have issues with, but I remember as one other poster has mentioned a point when a lot of threads suddenly appeared about how rubbish Mumsnet now is compared to the good old days. I found that point on MN pretty depressing (and dare I say boring). I don't understand or appreciate really the decision that a whole other forum was needed, with voting on whether to invite members, as opposed to personal conversations by whatever method was comfortable. But I felt angry and upset when I heard about Mouldies because of my memory of those threads. But there you go.

I am astonished that it was all considered so newsworthy though.

RustyBear · 29/12/2008 22:01

It's OK, if I flip the thread I can read it.
I am experiencing severe angst at having to read up the page - that's just unnnatural, but I will soldier on.....
