If you (still) feel the need to discuss Moldies, please do it here so folks can hide this if they want to.

Well hopefully the title says it all. There's been a suggestion, and we agree, that as we did with Baby P and the Mc Canns we just have one thread where anyone who feels they still have anything to add on this subject can post and those who'd rather move on can hide it away.

It feels strange to put this thread in site stuff as we are definitely not wanting to encourage further discussion of Moldies (we have presents to wrap too you know ) but we weren't sure where else to put it.

We will delete any new Moldies threads that are started, so please feel free to report them in case we miss any (what with wrapping the presents and all...)

And if you do want to carry on the discussion please remember that Mumsnet's here to make everyone's lives easier and not the reverse, and that Christmas is a time of goodwill to all mumsnetters past, present and future

Thanks,
MNHQ

'You don't have to be anonymous on Mumsnet if you don't want to.'

Good point. Being reasonably recognisable on here doesn't mean that you give up your right to give a shit if you're wildly misquoted.

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 28/12/2008 19:23

Well, if you can't be arsed to argue with me, Saint George, or to throw insults, it seems a little odd to threaten to do so.

It seemed to me that several posters, including you, were being deliberately obtuse, and rather mean, to the Rev, because she was in a bit of a panic about the professional part of her life.

As a minister, there isn't a huge amount that couldn't be construed as professional btw.)

Saint George: "Funny how people are suddenly coming over all coy because of crappily ripped off quotes in a newspaper. Perhaps a little circumspection before posting on a public forum in the first place would have been more apt."

It was this post of yours that made me particularly cross. It was sanctimonious and unkind, and (despite your later backtracking) was clearly aimed at the Rev. Her kindness in letting you off the hook does her credit.

I went to Kings to study theology, have never bothered to research where they ended up, but it was full of ovely religious public school boys who wanted to enter the priesthood.

ah maybe not then

pooka · 28/12/2008 19:25

It does feel a little as if a raiding party has formed. With the targets being justabout and onebat. Not sure why?

I tried to find something on the website so I could claim the "i utterly, utterly despise" as my own and couldn't find a reader's ed or even a 'contact us'.

Where is it? I wont' have KerryMum basking in my certain glory a moment longer!

SaintGeorge · 28/12/2008 19:27

It was not aimed at rev at all onebat, but hey, why the fuck should I know what is in my head when you obviously know better.

I have wasted half of my bloody day catching up on all this crap. There is angst and concern from a lot of posters about what they have said on here in the past and people deleting profiles all over the place. THAT is what I was commenting on.

TWINSETinapeartree · 28/12/2008 19:28

overly but they were also lovely on the whole if a little odd.

I used to have to go to extra Greek classes with one charming Eton graduate who was trying to translate Homer despite the fact he couldn't get his basic verb endings right.

do you know what annoys me ....

that there are people all over mn discussing serious issues and problems

A lot of these issues and problems are only known to exist in the world when it happens to you or someone close to you eg (and this is a personal choice for me I know there will be hundreds of others) unexplained stillbirths

I think it would be nice to see the papers taking up a story based on one of these real life issues instead of this crap..

THAT is what I was commenting on.

Well, if, next time, you comment a little more erm.. circumspectly, and a less priggishly, it might be better understood.

wrapstar · 28/12/2008 19:36

Get a bloody grip. How on earth could any remotely sane person be affronted that they were quoted as christmastwatbastardgin when they are really fuckitbastardyuletidewhisky? Will you listen to yourselves!

SwedesInADirtyMacAndSunglasses · 28/12/2008 19:38

Wrapstar - Clearly the subtleties are lost on you.

Rev, just though I'd direct you to the other moldie thread where your ordained status and accusations of you being like a very infamous troll are being made.

You may or may not care, but I thought you should know. it is most unpleasnt imo.

What does moldies do to previously pleasnt rational peopel?

TWINSETinapeartree · 28/12/2008 19:41
