Well hopefully the title says it all. There's been a suggestion, and we agree, that as we did with Baby P and the Mc Canns we just have one thread where anyone who feels they still have anything to add on this subject can post and those who'd rather move on can hide it away.

It feels strange to put this thread in site stuff as we are definitely not wanting to encourage further discussion of Moldies (we have presents to wrap too you know ) but we weren't sure where else to put it.

We will delete any new Moldies threads that are started, so please feel free to report them in case we miss any (what with wrapping the presents and all...)

And if you do want to carry on the discussion please remember that Mumsnet's here to make everyone's lives easier and not the reverse, and that Christmas is a time of goodwill to all mumsnetters past, present and future

Thanks,
MNHQ

I have a 3.5 kg free range cornfed capon from Monoprix and it cost 27 euros.

However, I did hanker after a free range guinea fowl capon (23 euros) that I spotted after I had already menu-planned. Next year, perhaps...

OK, tha's me signing on to sign off for Crimbo. So Rev, thank you for your earlier sermon. Seems was just what was needed to simmer this down. So, so impressed with FAQ, Custardo, Ruty, Pag and others who have turned this thread into a brilliant end to a horrid saga. I think ALL MNetters should be proud.

So its a happy christmas from me and my dcs.
Don'tDrink too much, eat loads too and sleep more than you need to. The housework can wait.

Aitch · 24/12/2008 14:29

Monkeytrousers · 24/12/2008 14:34

It's corn fed blah blah small local farm blah blah slept on a feather bed blah blah , no-one's ever been rude to it blah blah.

Bloody hell, you're right. I'm going to go and demand the testicles and the asses milk that it bathed in.

Actually I wish I hadn't found that out. I don't like things without balls that should have balls, it makes me think that without that .. erm.. outlet for it's natural urges it will have gone a bit odd and stinky inside.

Is it time to drink?

Monkeytrousers · 24/12/2008 15:06

bloody hell!

I'm off to my sisters for burnt yorkshires and learing BIL's.

Catastrophy is always only a moment away. Pray for me!

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 24/12/2008 15:15

I am praying MT. You could threaten to caponify him if he leers too much.

Monkeytrousers · 24/12/2008 15:20

He wouldn;t know what that meant

..Hang on, I don;t know what that means!

If it's good I'll threaten him with it though. Thank you for your prayers!

ruty · 24/12/2008 15:20

LOL

RustyBear · 24/12/2008 15:58

"In caponization, the surgical castration of male chickens, the testes of the male chicken are completely removed. As a result, the cockerel fails to develop certain male characteristics or tends to lose them if they are developed. Capons are usually quiet and docile, lacking a cockerel's disposition to fight. The comb and wattles cease growing after castration, so the head of a capon looks small. The hackle, tail and saddle feathers grow unusually long."

Wouild you like your BIL to be docile, with a small head and long feathers, MT?

I'm especially taken with the final two sentences of the description. The ideal man, imo.

Monkeytrousers · 24/12/2008 19:11

Oh the poor hens. I bet they are ogling the cockerals in the other allotments thinking, 'look at his massive head. I dunno why but that does something to me'

As was my slow-roasted pork neck with fennel and chilli.
Also I didn't get drunk with stress and fall onto the table which is always good

needmorecoffee · 27/12/2008 16:53
