Sleeping Environment Survey

AnnMumsnet · 20/06/2008 13:09

We've been asked to find out a bit more about your attitude to sleep and your child's sleeping environment.

The survey is open to anyone in the UK with at least one child aged under 4.

Everyone who takes part in survey will be entered into a prize draw where 1 respondent will win £150 of vouchers for bebeco and 2 runners up will each receive £50 of vouchers for bebeco

Click here to complete the survey

Thanks a million and good luck!!!

becster you have summed it up so much better.

I hate it when people write surveys to only get the answers they want. It makes it pointless.

MrsTittleMouse · 23/06/2008 17:19

Agree that it is an AWFUL survey. So obviously devised to boost their marketing campaign. I'm not bothered by adverts that say that "98% of Mums agree that our product is essential for a good night's sleep/brain development/a healthy child/whatever" anyway though. Just brings out my inner rebel.

done!!

BroccoliSpears · 23/06/2008 19:26

Oh good, glad it's not just me who thought it was badly written.

Would not going back to work have been (a) a huge help to me? (b) Some help to me? (c) no help at all?

Umm... I didn't go back to work. Where's my box?

theyoungvisiter · 23/06/2008 20:05

agree it is very weird and prescriptive - it's like they are trying to box you in to say certain responses whether you want to or not.

Like the question about sleep - I certainly don't get enough sleep and I'm pretty much constantly knackered, but I don't think any of the results apply to me - I get on fine with my partner and fully enjoy my child!

Where is the box to say "I don't get enough sleep but I'm coping, thanks"?

PhDlifeNeedsaNewLife · 23/06/2008 20:47

wt hell is "nappy recycling"???

is that "washing" for us plebs?

Sanguine · 23/06/2008 21:08

I recycle my nappies in the washing machine

"Which of the following would have helped you enjoy being a parent more?" What's that all about? What if you really do enjoy your LO already, where was the option for just being happy with stuff how it is?

MN, who are these people, and why do they assume we all have regrets?

PhDlifeNeedsaNewLife · 23/06/2008 21:13

that too, sanguine!

What was that one about effects of losing sleep? Where was the box for "I nap more!"

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 23/06/2008 21:18

"Which of the following would have helped you enjoy being a parent more?"

More sleep.

When I stood at the microwave, sobbing in dismay because I had put the microwave on for 2 minutes, waited a min and microwaved for 3 more minutes, only to find after the five minutes there was f* all in the microwave, I deffo thought "you need some sleep girl!"

ReverseThePolarity · 23/06/2008 21:35

Hmm. No Merseyside. Obviously we don't give a toss about green issues here.

Which was most important to you when choosing your child's sleeping environment. Er, that my baby was in the same bed I was?

BalletMum · 23/06/2008 21:50

done!

LilRedWG · 23/06/2008 21:53

Done.

mazzystar · 23/06/2008 21:56

why no merseyside?
guess we are not the target market

harpomarx · 23/06/2008 22:31

done

but irritating questions!

(guess I won't be winning then!)

carriemumsnet · 23/06/2008 22:41

So sorry so many of you found the survey irritating and thanks for persevering in spite of this. Apologies too for missing counties - we should have checked the list we were given more thoroughly

All feedback - even critical stuff - is useful for future, so do let us know what you think - we can take it - just !

And rest assured that finding the survey irritating does not preclude you from winning the prize

Thanks again for taking the time to do the survey and feed back

cumberland

melpomene · 23/06/2008 23:04

"What factors were important in planning your baby's sleeping environment?"
nothing about co-sleeping / having baby close (we chose drop side crib next to our bed for that purpose.)

I also raised an eyebrow at the concept of 'chemical free skincare'. Does that mean you can't use H2O (water) on your baby's skin? What exactly do you use, then?

whomovedmychocolate · 23/06/2008 23:13

bump - personally I think you can prove any bloody thing with surveys and very few are well written.

Oh and 'chemical free skincare' that's when you put breastmilk in your baby's eye when they have an infection I think

Klaw · 23/06/2008 23:40

We have counties in Scotland, you know!!!!

katierocket · 24/06/2008 06:18

likewise in Wales!

morningpaper · 24/06/2008 09:25

agree melp

Planning your baby's sleeping environment basically meant moving the bedside drawers against the mattress so that it wouldn't fall out of my side of the bed...

funnypeculiar · 24/06/2008 10:48

ditto ditto melpomene.
