Help, help please lovely Mumsnetters - we need one of you to talk to the Observer about what Mumsnet means to you...

Amelia Hill, Social Affairs Correspondent for the Observer writes:

I am writing an article about the huge success of online parenting sites and why they are so useful.

I need to speak to a mother who can talk me through what sites like mumsnet.com mean to her - especially compared to parenting books or magazines.

As always, I'm afraid my deadline is very tight: I need to speak to someone tomorrow (Friday, 29th February), so can I please urge anyone who wants to help me to get in touch asap!

Many thanks

Lulumama · 28/02/2008 19:40

i;d like to but DH will take it as confirmation i am addicted to mumsnet !

McDreamy · 28/02/2008 19:42

What do we need to do? Ring her?

saltire · 28/02/2008 19:42

And I wouldn't want DH, or MIL to read it and find out my user name and then search for all the things I've said about them

Lulumama · 28/02/2008 19:42

good point, is it under user name or real life name?

MrsMattie · 28/02/2008 19:42

I'd be happy to!

LilOrphanAnnie · 28/02/2008 19:43

Will it be anon, or will our MN be published?
It it is anon,or just rl first name used, happy to help, if MN name published then I would rather not?

JustineMumsnet · 28/02/2008 19:54

Yes please do ring her. Or if you'd prefer her email is [email protected]
Not sure about which names but am sure you can be anon if you wish...

Has anyone spoken to her?
Very lovely woman.

I fear I may have rambled too much

Lulumama · 28/02/2008 20:27

have emailed her !

DualCycloneCod · 28/02/2008 20:45

you can ring me
m h have my number ithink

CarrieMumsnet · 28/02/2008 20:58

I think anyone up for it would have to call her (rather than her call them) and leave a number for her to call back - even if we had numbers we would never give them out.

Or alternatively just call/email tonight with your version of "what Mumsnet means to me" (sounds like an essay question )

Don't think it matters how many get it touch. Think it's a question of the more the merrier!

Thanks all

Olivia, I got the impression she wanted to know about parenting sites in general, but I only had mumsnet experience to speak of.

Apart from nosying at bounty and netmums and such.

DS knocked the phone cable out mid conversation too, but she called me straight back!

SoupDragon · 28/02/2008 23:05

What does Mumsnet mean to me?

Well, right now about 2500 emails offering me a ginormous meat-stick...

fletchaaarr · 28/02/2008 23:05

Bit too late to call her now though?

MaureenMLove · 28/02/2008 23:07

If she asks what your MN name is, you could always make another one up! She wouldn't know any difference would she!

ahundredtimes · 28/02/2008 23:09

LOL at Cod's she can ring ME.

OliviaMumsnet · 28/02/2008 23:09
