misdee · 27/11/2004 22:51

we have finally worn out 3 of those sleepsuits, has taken 18months and 2 kids to wear them out, and mostly daily wash/wear as well. and they get washed at 60 degrees or higher.

Gobbledigook · 27/11/2004 22:53

lilsmum - 10mg is not a very high dose either - often the dose is 20mg or 40mg so I wouldn't worry about a 10mg dose daily. Sometimes I think it may help you psychologically - just the fact that you are taking something means you think you will get better so you do, iyswim? Of course they do work anyway, but sometimes just starting off on them can help because you feel you are doing something to try and get back in control.

lilsmum · 27/11/2004 22:55

lol yeh i feel better, i think just everything has got on top of me today... anybody understand having loads of people around you but feeling alone? thats how i feel and have felt since dd was born...alone xx

OP posts:
Gobbledigook · 27/11/2004 22:59

lilsmum - glad you feel better. Sometimes people can feel alone even with people around and people who do help. Having a baby is an overwhelming experience - your body has been through massive changes and your whole world is tipped upside down. Of course it is amazing and we are lucky to have our babes but there is nothing quite like it so you cannot be prepared for what is ahead - you just give birth and hit the ground running and don't look back. Whoever you have to help you, at the end of the day, 90% of the responsibility falls on you so of course it's a bit frightening and lonely.

You've done the right thing coming on here - there are loads of people to talk to and people will try and help if they can. The great thing about MN is that you can find out quite quickly that you are not alone and there are women in households just down the road and hundreds of miles away all going through, or have been through, the same as you. Just keep talking and you'll find it a great support.

Really got to go to bed now but hope you feel better.

xxx

i'm usually about on allergy boards, so any ezcem,a stuff, throw it at me there.

and my life, hehe, how long u got? 24, 2 kids, one on way, dd1 is 4.5yrs old, dd2 is just over 2, # 3 due in march. dh has dilated cardiomyopathy, so sometimes get very down about that, and post very bad posts on that, and probably bore others to tears.

both dd's have eczema (hence my knowledge of it), dd1 has asthma and allergies as well.

but we're generally a happy bunch.

lilsmum · 27/11/2004 23:08

Is she still taking her milk or other fluids? Are there any other symptoms such as a fever?
Ds1 at around a year ate absolutely nothing for 12 days and I was so worried, but he picked up again slowly - I can't remember if he had a course of antibiotics in the end or not, but ever since then he's been very prone to chest infections which have ended up needing antibiotics. Fingers crossed he's 'growing out' of that a bit now though. Know nothing much about the exzema though so can't offer any help with that other than to say, be persistant with your GP or HV and shout loudly until you know you've been listened to and helped. Sometimes it's the only way. It's another thread really, but ds1 ended up with pneumonia 18 months ago and largely because I wasn't listened to in the first place. I clearly didn't shout loud enough, but complained afterwards and we are taken seriously now every time one of them is ill enough IMO to need checking out.

mrsmiawallace · 27/11/2004 23:13

families eh!
my mother vowed she would look after dd when born so i could go back to work full time...yeah right.
dp doesnt do a lot for dd although helps me like getting bath ran, changing stuff out, helping with tea. but never got up during night, for feeding or otherwise, changed a handful of nappies and hasnt 'babysat' for more than 2 hours tops! so havent been out since june 2003 and only 27!feel like a old woman.
now about dp, whats happening? our relationship can be hard(at min!)but vilence is unnessecary?

Aero · 27/11/2004 23:13

Forgot to add - ds2's been a bit off colour over the last few weeks and hasn't been eating much, buthas finally cut his first toth yesterday and his apetite seems to have returned. He's also mega whingy/clingy at the moment.

mrsmiawallace · 27/11/2004 23:14

am off myself now, but really if you want to chat, just make a thread shouting me and ill be there in a flash!, come here most nights, so hope i can help.x

Didn't like the sound of that last post re your dp and I will need to head to bed soon, but am here for a little while if you wnat to offload a bit. Sounds worrying and I presume your parents don't know judging by the little bits of information coming through.

lilsmum · 27/11/2004 23:35

aero.. never punched me in face or anything like that just little things. the worst was when i was 36 wk pregnant i wouldnt give him some keys so he got me in a head lock and tried to get me down on the floor.. i have 2 doors with holes in. on thurs night (its sounds funny) but he threw dd's dummy full pelt at my face. just silly things like that really.
