Seriously MNHQ. The country is shutting down and you are trialling in thread ads for holidays. When so many people have had to cancel things, including holidays. And for it be in a thread about isolation. Hmm

Appallingly timed in thread ads
OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 18/03/2020 23:47

Still there for me
And on another thread where I felt I was the only one seeing it

ArcWorc · 18/03/2020 23:49

How tone deaf, MNHQ - totally inappropriate and feels very manipulative especially as these ads can't be reported.

PickAChew · 18/03/2020 23:50

@Mumsnet shop bot (MNHQ) bad bot.

Becca19962014 · 18/03/2020 23:51

I think it's been timed to begin over night so it effects less threads.

Sorry, but it's happened before and been MNHQ. If they've been hacked then I will of course apologise.

Also as far as I'm aware no one else can set up an account without a report/message this poster/add message function options at the the top.

Mummylin · 19/03/2020 00:03

It's a bloody disgrace. Take it off MNHQ

Becca19962014 · 19/03/2020 00:05

I don't work for MNHQ but In the meantime if people get messages asking them to relogin just in case it is a hacker please check the address it has come from. Don't just respond to a random email asking you to relogin or change password

CoffeeHere · 19/03/2020 00:05

Also came to report.

One thing for sure, once this is over, I shan't be foing with Hoseasons I thought they are quite naff anyhow, wrong audience

CoffeeHere · 19/03/2020 00:05

*going

NoSquirrels · 19/03/2020 00:07

Oh god. Glad someone else has already started this.

Fucking HOLIDAY ads in the middle of a lockdown pandemic.

Very. Very. Very. Very. Bad.

Someone wake up @JustineMNHQ!

You can't even "report" them - the button is missing. It does make me think it could be a hack, but fucking who knows? FFS.

chipsandgin · 19/03/2020 00:08

For fucks sake @MNHQ stop it! The entire country, the whole fucking world in the midst of the biggest life changing crisis our generations has ever faced and on every thread is a 5% off Hoseasons ad...really!? Country about to go into lockdown, many of our loved ones at risk of death & non essential travel is not advised.. sort it out!!!!

chipsandgin · 19/03/2020 00:10

& frankly if anything could make us think that Hoseasons can fuck off to the far end of fuck and then fuck off some more, this will do it..,,

Hamsterriffic · 19/03/2020 00:11

Not great MNHQ Sad

Knowhowufeel2 · 19/03/2020 00:12

@mnhq, get rid of these shopbots, they're so intrusive.

colouringinpro · 19/03/2020 00:13

every thread. straight after the OP. Really shit.

Panpastels · 19/03/2020 00:16

Does no one use the app? No ads here.

colouringinpro · 19/03/2020 00:17

And a post where the OPs daughter is very suicidal. This is just awful.

Jux · 19/03/2020 00:20

This is a really stupid idea; I am astonished that HQ actually think this might be a welcome addition to their site. The bloody thing's shown up on every single thread I've opened.

I SHALL NEVER USE HO-BLOODY-SEASONS.

sowerehere · 19/03/2020 00:26

Just adding in my incredulity at being offered 5% off a Hoseseasons Holiday. Even in this thread. Be good to know that it is a hideous error.

NicketyNacketyNooNoo · 19/03/2020 00:31

Absolutely awful ads given the current pandemic. Bad choice to trial this now @Mumsnet

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/03/2020 00:44

What they ^^ all said.

Becca19962014 · 19/03/2020 09:57

I can't use the app on my device it won't run. I can't update it and can't run Adblock nor can I afford a new one.

Becca19962014 · 19/03/2020 09:59

Oh wrong thread, I saw on another MNHQ are recommending people use the app.

Not the point.

Becca19962014 · 19/03/2020 10:01

Ignore me, it was an old thread that got bumped on my I'm on (an issue I've had for a very long time) and that was MNHQ response.

My apologies.

MichaelMumsnet · 20/03/2020 07:23

Hi all, and huge apologies for the upset. There was a technical problem with a 3rd party supplier and we got it fixed as soon as possible yesterday. You shouldn't see any more of the ads now.

Thanks for bearing with us whilst we investigated the problem and put a fix in place.

StealthPolarBear · 20/03/2020 07:37

Phew. Glad it wasn't mn approved, that would have been a huge mis judgement
