[shortest thread in MN history]

OP posts:
Whizzz · 09/04/2007 15:28

me, cos it always ends in tears

zippitippitoes · 09/04/2007 15:30

controversial fine

lots of shouting down not so fine

DaffodilsforeasterFlower3554 · 09/04/2007 15:30

me, hate the name calling and flouncing. They are compulsive to watch but too scary to join in IMHO

SaintGeorge · 09/04/2007 15:31

They really, really annoy me. Pig me off no end.

Mainly 'cos they happen when I'm not around. I hate missing out.

Carmenere · 09/04/2007 15:32

Banter is fine but mudslinging is boring.

Ponka · 09/04/2007 15:32

Me. I keep well clear. Never post on them because they usually turn out nasty. Hardly ever read them. I just don't want to get involved. I feel like I miss out on a fair bit that way, though being as there are a lot of them on MN!

hatwoman · 09/04/2007 15:38

me. I rarely look at weaning, breast and bottle feeding. I don;t have babies anymore so I don;t actually find it that interesting

charliecat · 09/04/2007 15:39

they are good for the first 200 posts then you have to spend hours scrolling up and down to see if someone really said that....

Saturn74 · 09/04/2007 15:39

Don't mind controversy.
Don't like aggressive or insulting responses.
I think it is possible to post on a thread with a controversial subject matter, without resorting to unpleasantness.

PinkTulips · 09/04/2007 15:40

i've stopped clicking on threads i know will explode as it's a waste of time posting... no-one pays any attention to anything anyonwe else says

we're not counting 'huge mistake' type threads are we?

LittleEasterLapin · 09/04/2007 15:42

Controversial is interesting as long as it's intelligent debate. Once we degenerate into name calling, bitchiness, bullying, accusations of bullying, threats to flounce, complaints about cleaks and how it all used to be so much better in the old days...

... then it's REALLY GOOD!!!

Just kidding. Then I go and read something more interesting.

Debbsyandson · 09/04/2007 15:58

me as some comments by certain people (dont know if anyone has noticed but it always to be the same people)are very derrogatory, personal and rude not fair really,we can debate but others tend to turn those threads bitchy so i steer well clear.

Debbsyandson · 09/04/2007 15:59

sworry ds 4 mths on knee seem to be the same people i meant

ScoobyDooooo · 09/04/2007 16:01

I don't mind any thread a good debate is good to read/join in but i don't like the name calling it is very childish & well school ground behaviourer.

Go on Hunker tell us you love em

UCM · 09/04/2007 16:01

I fecking love em' saves me spending 40 quid down the pub, waiting for a fight

No, joking aside. I really do enjoy them. I sometimes agree with both which confuses me. I have learnt alot from other people on here, which has stopped me from being so narrow minded, a good thing I think.

UCM · 09/04/2007 16:02

What I REALLY want to know is when someone is going to do a list who they think are cliquey. I might but am not pissed yet, so watch this space

UCM · 09/04/2007 16:03

of

LittleEasterLapin · 09/04/2007 16:05

Well, that debbsyandson for a start...

UCM · 09/04/2007 16:08

I think some of the prolific posters on here seem like a clique but have probably never met/talked to each other, they just have the same views.

I am all for a good debate.
it is healthy to have differing opinions.
I just wish peopel didn't have to resort to insulte and jibes, it is so depressing.

NadineBaggott · 09/04/2007 16:43

if they're like the soap dispenser thread - I love em!

Ponka · 09/04/2007 16:53

I agree. A good debate/discussion is always really interesting and you can really learn a lot from them. I'm not sure why they so often turn more sinister here.

I just think that being a Mum is a bloody hard job which comes with very little free time so I'm definately not going to use that free time to:

a) Get picked upon
b) Pick on someone else
c) Watch others being picked on

just over what they cook, the way the feed their kids etc. etc.

Life's too short.

SlightlyMadSlug · 09/04/2007 16:56

I don't like em.

They move far too quick and I can't keep up .

And whilst you are all bickering at each other over god knows what you are not writing funny posts on the threads I am keeping up with .

Then they get deleted and I havn't got a clue what everyone is raving on about for the next 3 days .

And of course by definition at least 2 people are upset about them .

I don't mind a good harmless troll tho. Pollychrome and blue cheese were inspired

Carmenere · 09/04/2007 16:58

UCM Please, please, please do a definitive clique list. Please?
