Hello there!

We would like to cordially invite you all to join us this coming Sunday, June 18, for a Great Get Together - in memory of the late Jo Cox MP, and in support of her family's organisation, More In Common, which aims to get us all to celebrate the things that unite us.

So whether you're reasonable or unreasonable, whether you have or have not Googled penguin bollards, and whether or not you think the OP should have cashed the cheque, we'd love to see you all here on Sunday around midday.

There will be PRIZES, chatting and amusing gifs (courtesy of AliceDMumsnet's 'solid gold gifs' folder). Please bring your best children's jokes, pictures of any kittens who have recently adopted you, and heartwarming stories of love and friendship across the divide (Netmums).

BYO booze. Folk dancing will not be tolerated in the shallow end.

(If you'd rather go to an event near you and meet other people face-to-face, check out the Great Get Together's listings of thousands of events across the UK here.)

Love
MNHQ

Sorry, all...am a bit late...earliest could escape.

Ow, Sass, that's made me go all weird. Poor you.
(Though good enough excuse to dose yourself up with Pimms too, I'd think: medicinal reasons).

RowanMumsnet · 18/06/2017 12:26

Imagine being stuck in a Bumbo while someone steals your carrot. Would drive you to distraction.

Welcome autumnal

Sassy I think we need to know exactly what happened. If you can bear it.

My day in 5 words;
Four loads of washing, work.

When the weather is this nice, I wash all of the things Grin

AdaColeman · 18/06/2017 12:27

My five words
Toast, tea, more tea, bills.

AutumnalLeaves38 · 18/06/2017 12:27

^ Lovely cat. Cheeky rabbit. Poor, bewildered baby Grin

AdaColeman · 18/06/2017 12:28

I love that Rabbit!

AutumnalLeaves38 · 18/06/2017 12:29

On close inspection, there's also a stealth chicken ready to nick something from Bumbo Baby!

Rowgtfc72 · 18/06/2017 12:31

Day in five words
Walk, breakfast, walk, milkshake, home.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/06/2017 12:32

Here's our old lady. In this case she's sitting on a plastic sheet because we were decorating, but tbh she sort of needs to sit on a plastic sheet all the time these days (she's 22)

Ok......so part of DDs homework is to measure things around the house. So of course I am made to measure various parts of the cat (her tail is 26cms and her ears are 6cms in case you're interested Grin)...anyway DD chucks stuff back in draw but walk into living room and find draw stuck and tape measure on sofa....are you ahead of me yet??? Go to try to get draw open. Something is wedged and stopping said draw...With me now?? Yep. But hand into draw to ease out the blockage. Closed hand around unseen stapler and pulled firing staple into thumb in process...

If you're wincing...just imagine my face retracting hand and finding staple firmly lodged in thumb....briefly wondered whether to locate staple remover!!!

Dealt with but medicinal Pimms would be good! Smile

RowanMumsnet · 18/06/2017 12:36

Welcome!

Row you've actually done some exercise. Blimey. Is it hot where you are?

OYBBK The bell-ringers at my local church practise every Tuesday evening and it's one of my favourite noises. (It also reminds me to put my bins out.)

WAAAAAAH.

My DS1 once did the classic 'peer down the barrel of the Nerf gun while pulling the trigger to see what the blockage is'. With the usual results. (Thankfully he was fine)

Er....that'll be DRAWER...stupid autocorrect ....Or maybe my thumb isn't up to posting today Grin

RowanMumsnet · 18/06/2017 12:40

OYBBK Is that a beaver? (I don't mean to be rude)

AutumnalLeaves38 · 18/06/2017 12:41

Sheep gif takes me right back to farm childhood: we did exactly the same as those kids, and I still have scars to prove it!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/06/2017 12:41

I can't remember any of dds jokes, so I asked her to make one up for mn. Her response was 'no'.

Sorry!

Rowan, it would be lovely if we had nice church bells. Maybe I should campaign for some... can imagine the subsequent mn threads Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/06/2017 12:42

A beaver?! I hope not. Shock I requested an otter I'll have you know!
