Can there be an emergency reporting button

Following a v bad thread earlier, I'm wondering if there is a way of triaging reporting so that absolutely vile stuff is brought to MNHQ attention immediately rather than joining the reported stuff queue?

I'm sure that there is a huge amount of reporting stuff to wade through, and I'm wondering if that means the really awful stuff doesn't get the immediate action in needs?

The horrible padeo thread took 2 hours to delete, which just seems a long time to me.
When you report, it currently asks you if you are reporting
a) spam
b) other stuff
maybe we could have a (c) also for really grim stuff and then the (c) category got looked at as a priority?

Would that work?

Yes, good call.

HelenMumsnet · 01/08/2013 12:23

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll certainly look into it.

We do operate a kind of triage system already, just so you know. We certainly don't plod through the Reports in strictly chronological order.

It might also help to know that, though the thread in question was created just after 9am this morning, the first reports of it didn't come in till sometime after that.

We always get to stuff as fast as we can.

Does there need to be. I really think threads lkke thT should just be left once its clear theyve been reported. A number of unnecessary people read it because it was bumped (by me as well I realise) and because of the number of other threads statted about it! Report, say youre reporting and then we should all just let it die. Fewer people read ot tbat way surely

FrancesDeLaTourCoughngIntoABin · 01/08/2013 12:26

And the ops get less pleasure iff no one responds

Photoofducks · 01/08/2013 12:29

Surely such an obvious post should be reported and not posted on?

Seriously, report and move on.

Tee2072 · 01/08/2013 12:33

There's no need to post on the thread and say you've reported it, actually.

Just report it and hide it from your Active and move on with your life.

I think HQ do an amazing job. 2 hours isn't long at all.

Aw, thanks Tee. That's very kind.

Tee2072 · 01/08/2013 12:37

Just sucking up Helen, so the next time I call a...well, you know a you know, you won't delete me. Grin

And I do think y'all do a great job!

And yes. Always more infuriating for the hairy of hoof if their creative writing provokes nothing but tumbleweed

FrancesDeLaTourCoughngIntoABin · 01/08/2013 12:39

I know the rules are not to trollhunt but I do feel this one warranted a very quick "reporting".
I agree with Tee

Also, I don't think there's any need to respond to individual posters (well certainly not me) when they've said "this needs deleting" and you've deleted it. It's not that your emails are unwelcome, but it just seems an extra burden.

Callmedreckly · 01/08/2013 12:40

Does it help if we individually report it more than once?

HelenMumsnet · 01/08/2013 12:41

Actually no. Once is all we need - thanks v much.

(Unless there's something else you need to add to what you told us first time round.)

We don't triage according to the number of reports from one thread, if that's what you're getting at.

Callmedreckly · 01/08/2013 12:46

Ah I see, o.k.

Thanks,
