Inspired by the 11 people who completed the first survey from this thread: Can we have a like button on every posters post an expanded survey of suggestions has been put together.

Anyone without a sense of humour is invited to click Hide this thread, frothing beserkers are invited to start their own thread in AIBU and the rest of you please click www.surveymonkey.com/s/MM3TBDD. You get one go at the survey.

Results will be published on Friday.

You get one vote per IP. So smartphone users only get one each.

  1. I'm customised for no stickies so not sure. I'd be very surprised if it was. Although it should be. Wink

It makes sense, doesn't it, that the comments are all "I Do Not Approve Of This Idea" and yet the lurkers are madly clicking the "yes to a Like button" option. Because that's what nightshade was saying, that she wants the Like button option precisely so she doesn't have to post.

There's an IP block Lenin so I don't think that would work. You'd either need to re-route using Spooks style technology or use another IP address. Neither very easy to do to multiple vote. If you have a home PC, a work one and a smartphone that's a max of 3 votes but you'd have to really care to be bothered.

Tortoise I find it interesting that the lurker who requested the like button has struggled to find and post on her own thread. It is either too difficult to post as it currently stands or there has been a form of natural selection at play... but I couldn't possibly comment as to which it is Wink

Like button - meh!

"Kill him" button - in honour of Hully

"SIOB" button - in honour of Chaos

"Stop bjullying, you bjitches" - in honour of the wolefs (and she who must not named otherwise this thread will also be deleted)

"I agree with Hec" button - so much quicker than having to type it out each time!

Emoticons needed:

fire - so much easier to flame someone!

balls - can be used for " you need to grow some" posts and in honour of Previouslyonlost

(I post a bit, but lurk a lot - still not able to join in the in crowd even on t'internet!) Sad Envy

MyMelody · 12/10/2011 09:45

hehhe done it

RustyBear · 12/10/2011 09:50

"You get one go at the survey"

Unless you happen to be IT support in a school with 16 computers in the ICT suite, 17 in the classrooms, 5 admin computers, 32 pupils laptops, around 20 staff laptops (in varying degrees of decrepitude but still capable of achieving an internet connection) 2 servers and an iphone and ipad which will work both on wireless and 3g.....

I would have to bypass the proxy filter to remove the pornography block which this thread encounters and then put it back again....Unless, of course I save the link & go in direct, because our filter doesn't object to survey monkey.

We actually really need an evil laugh emoticon...

PinotScreechio · 12/10/2011 09:51

Rusty! Where have you beeeeeeeeeeeeeen?

RustyBear · 12/10/2011 09:54

I've been TashHag, Pinot. It was that alter ego who who suggested the My Topics option, which now features on this excellent survey...

nickelbabe · 12/10/2011 09:56

Arion - that's true, an I agree with Hec button is a lot more useful than a like a button.

I tried to answer a different option to "disagree" on one of the questions and it crashed, but now I notice that it was when it crashed last night anyway, so it wasn't my dissent that caused it! Grin

Trills · 12/10/2011 09:57

:o at Rusty

PinotScreechio · 12/10/2011 09:58

Oh! Very good nn - clever And I voted yes to My Topics.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 12/10/2011 10:01

There should be a Bingo button as well.

JacquesDerrida · 12/10/2011 10:02

Darn. I forgot in the original survey to suggest the edit button again

Is that not a contender?

I want to be at least able to edit or remove my own posts, especially if someone I don't really like decides to 'like' them.
