Right, that does it! I refuse to clean this blessed thing again - not only does it have white straps (well, they are grey and orange now)but it has a million padded crevices for food to hide in and I HATE IT! Must buy a new one this weekend and it has to be super easy to clean with dark straps or removeable ones to throw in washing machine. Any ideas?????

Tripp Trapp was one of the ones I was thinking about but was unsure which bits to order. DS is just 1 yr old...

Why don't you get a booster seat?

Not only are they easy to clean but they also take up less space.

cricket · 17/08/2005 13:19

Thought about that but our dining chairs are fold away (to save space) and am not sure it would be very stable for a boisterous boy!!

So what is so good about your Tripp Trapp? Looks easy to clean! (hooray)

tarantula · 17/08/2005 13:35

Easy to clean and can be used as a proper chair later. Also looks good.

Xena · 17/08/2005 13:37

I love our tripp trapp and it is v easy to clean butttttt, I wish it had a removable tray.

I think I saw on for sale on here

pesme · 17/08/2005 13:37

tripp trapp is excellent and if you are really anal you can totally take it apart and clean it.

you would probably need the baby attachment, dd still uses it and she is 18m. don't bother with the cushion.

tripp trapp was a present. before that we had an ikea one which was pretty good too and easy to clean.

Enid · 17/08/2005 13:43

Ikea antilop

fab and only a tenner

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 17/08/2005 13:45

i would vote for a booster.....

cricket · 17/08/2005 13:46

Now it's getting tricky - the Ikea one was my other possibility (but not that near an Ikea so may have to wait longer to get one)...as my childminder has one and it looks basic and easy to clean! bit of a dilemma...

Tripp Trapp
No cushions- just gets dirty
Yes Baby bit (DD 13 mths needs hers)

cricket · 17/08/2005 13:48

Do you mind there not being a tray with it?

OP posts:
Chuffed · 17/08/2005 13:58

booster - dd been in hers since 13mths, soooo much easier than a highchair. We are using it with a fold out chair and it is actually quite secure. Probably more so than the normal chairs we have.
She eats a lot better sitting at the table with us too.

koalabear · 17/08/2005 14:00

trip trapp good because SOLID and my ds (15 months) can't tip it over, as he did his Sven! (oh!)

at first, i really wanted tray, but it is much easier to just put a plastic table cloth on the table and wipe over that instead

DS also likes sitting at the table better, like he's part of the family

Gillian76 · 17/08/2005 14:01

I'm with Enid and the Ikea chair. Very cheap and very easy to clean

Enid · 17/08/2005 17:00

you can literally hose the Ikea one down in the garden (which I did a couple of times). The tripp trapp is sooooooo expensive and I can't believe you would use it for the timescale they suggest -teenagers sitting on it just looks stupid. Also they arent so easy to clean.

LIZS · 17/08/2005 17:03

Have to add that we are currently having a bit of a battle with dd ,almost 4, who thinks her Tripp Trapp is a "baby" chair. Otherwise we've been very happy with it.

MrsDoolittle · 17/08/2005 17:06

Tripp Trapp if you want it to look good and it's pretty solid. Very expensive but worth it IMO.
Ikea one is very cheap and good too. Dd looks comfortable in it also.
Depends on whether you want the orthopeadic advantages of the Tripp trapp too.

almost40 · 17/08/2005 17:07

Didn't like the trip trap because no tray for DD when under 2. After 2yo, I would suggest trip trap, but not now.

almost40 · 17/08/2005 17:08

The Ikea antelope is fab - easy to clean - good for now - very cheap. I would say get the antelope now and then get the trip trap later.

MrsDoolittle · 17/08/2005 17:09

Do you want you little one to eat at the table with you or not?
I put a plastic table cover on the table, dd eats with us

Enid · 17/08/2005 17:09

get the antilop now and teach them to sit on a proper chair later!
