am bamboozled by sofas, please help me!

posted a while back about sofas and thought i'd decided to get one from multiyork.
went out today, and our nearest store was shut due to powercut, grrr.
sooo then i got to looking around and saw a nice one in habitat, but not sure if you're just paying for the name in there?

have been googling all evening and now am just confused!
how can i tell if a sofa is decent? i liked some of the GPlan ones but then came across a forum where people were less than complimentary!

what companies really do produce quality furniture that lasts?
what sofa do you have that you love???

catinthehat, i alreadyt have a problem with cushions falling off. though i suspect that's more to do with the children than the sofa

will steer clear of m&s though, think they were on watchdog a while ago re their furniture anyway

Yes, so I heard (Watchdog). Baffled that they don't seem to be doing much about customer word of mouth!

we have two of these barrymore I think anyway the 2-seater with the plain back.

I really really like them actually. They are made in UK to our order and the firm sent us loads of swatches of fabric to the colours I specified.

They aere £1500 for the two which I thought a bit £££ but maybe it wasn't. DH v picky re sofas (worse than me) - by which I mean he will sa no to many many things (eg cushions on the back etc).

I actually loved the more art deco sofas by Scandecor but they are too big for our room (and DH vetoed anyway ).

sorry slightly off topic but if I buy a sofa from scs will I regret it??
