Janh · 29/06/2005 12:51

Toyota Previa!

(How much though?)

maddiemo · 29/06/2005 12:51

We have an eight seater Toyota Previa

mandyc66 · 29/06/2005 12:51

oh not heard of it. Does it have all 3point seat belts or lap belts?

Janh · 29/06/2005 12:51

It's a Transit minibus, mandy!

maddiemo · 29/06/2005 12:52

Lap belts in my S reg in the middle seats.

mandyc66 · 29/06/2005 12:52

Toyota have stopped doing 8 seater and their old ones have lap belts I think. Does anyone know anything about the 806?

Yes, I can - we've got a MAZDA Bongo - don't laugh . It an import and you can get them in the Auto Trader or Southampton has ships full of them. It has a roof the elevates at a press of a button, where two can sleep and the back seats lie flat to sleep two more! We love ours and my husband takes our three children for weekends away regularly (I stay at home with ds (13 months) - as it gives me a rest!! Can't be bad eh? [grin}, but you want one now!!lol.

It's also really useful for carting stuff to the local tip (we recently took two mattresses, a sofa and two chairs (in two trips!).

Good luck!!

806 and Citroen C8 (same car) both popular with owners (have less luggage space behind 3rd row though).

QueenEagle · 29/06/2005 12:55

Was that to me mandy??

Tourneo has 8 proper seatbelts. It's built like a mini-bus though. Once used to it, lovely to drive. Huge boot - I can put my pushchair in there without folding it first. Loads of headroom and footroom.

Insurance for me and dh fully comp is £300

Expensive to buy though - I paid £15,000 I think with my old 7 seater as a trade-in for £6,000.

Janh · 29/06/2005 12:56

But I think all the 8-seaters have a bench in the back, and I'm not sure if you get a 3-point belt in the middle of any of them.

QueenEagle · 29/06/2005 12:57

In case my last post didn't make sense - that's £21,000 altogether.

Janh · 29/06/2005 12:59

Oh, the Peugeot is an 807 now, 806 was the old one (like Citroen Synergie) - the new ones are supposed to be much better.

mandyc66 · 29/06/2005 13:00

just looked at the ford one!
Nice. Will see if i can find a second hand one. Cant afford £25000!!!!!!
Some 8 seaters have 2 lap belts which would be useless to me can manage if it has one as car seat fits on a lap belt

mandyc66 · 29/06/2005 13:10

orderd brochure for 807 and ford
Thanks you are a good bunch!!!
Need to start looking for one now!!! Luggage space is always a prob in these people carriers, doesnt anyone realise lots of people= lots of luggage!!!

OP posts:
Janh · 29/06/2005 13:13

The Previa and Grand Espace and Grand Voyager all have better luggage space but you said the Previa doesn't do 8 seats any more and I don't think the others ever did. This is why QE loves her BUS so much

QueenEagle · 29/06/2005 13:20

Jan

mandyc66 · 29/06/2005 13:29

I like the look of the Toureno and when the kids are at school I can do erport runs!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
QueenEagle · 29/06/2005 13:34

I've often wondered if I could set up in business doing that Mandy!!

I know it looks big, well it is big but it really does drive beautifully - similar to the way a Ford Galaxy drives I would say.

Janh · 29/06/2005 13:36

Sorry, QE

mandy, according to this , you can still get an 8-seater Previa if you import one. I'm pretty sure they have a 3-point belt in the centre seat of the middle row, not sure about the rear.

4 months delivery though

mandyc66 · 29/06/2005 15:51

when I went to Toyota garage they said they didnt do them and the old ones had lap belts. Will look at site though. Imports would be new though, so dont think I could afford that!

OP posts:
mandyc66 · 29/06/2005 15:54

mmm does say 8 seats I wonder where I can find out about seat belts!

OP posts:
Janh · 29/06/2005 16:33

This place says it sells used imports - worth emailing? (You could ask about belts too.)

bambi06 · 29/06/2005 16:46

have a look on ebay there and then get an AA check done on it or another mechanical check by someone to make sure( theyre about £100 i htink but worth it...

Janh · 29/06/2005 17:09

This one looks fab - a bargain if the mileage is true - but it will have 2 lap belts I think.

I love it when they say "Will arrange for local pickup only (no postage)" for a car! Imagine wrapping it in brown paper and taking it down to the post office.
