I like my tea in a china mug but I have never seen a decent design.

JeminTheDungeon · 24/09/2009 18:10

Oh come on..I think you are just lazy OP

TheBalladofGayTony · 24/09/2009 18:10

whats not to like?

shonaspurtle · 24/09/2009 18:12

Dunoon mugs

I have family in the area so factory seconds are frequently received as gifts and they seem to have an infinite variety of designs, some naff, some not so bad. They're pretty cheap.

gorionine · 24/09/2009 18:14

is that plain enough?

said · 24/09/2009 18:14

Well, it was another trip to TK Maxx today that made me start this thread.

That's so plain I can't tell the mug from the background

Will peruse other links here as well.

yes.

They are covered in little white dogs instead.

MarthaFarquhar · 24/09/2009 18:16

i want these

AitchTwoToTangOh · 24/09/2009 18:18

john lewis have some lovely ones, very orla kiely-ish but a bit bigger and a fiver apiece rather than seven fifty.

gorionine · 24/09/2009 18:22

Martha, I find these mugs scary!

Prunerz · 24/09/2009 19:14

I love those Habitat ones!
Nearly bought them, but, you know, I have mugs. How many mugs does a person need?

ABetaDad · 24/09/2009 19:44

Its OK to laugh and point at me for buying 10 of these in a variety of colours.

There are some nice colourful modern ones for a more sensible price lower down on this page

They're very nice ABD but "Inspired by PANTONE Colour charts, this bone china mug is glazed with a pattern resembling the iconic PANTONE Colour Chip." is a bit lost on me [philistine emoticon]

I've got these Cath Kidston strawberries and stars ones

said · 24/09/2009 19:55

Do they have to be funny shapes/smaller because china isn't as strong?

OP posts:
moondog · 24/09/2009 19:57

My CK ones are huge.

ABetaDad · 24/09/2009 20:02

said - PANTONE is apparently an interational standard colour matching system.

I didn't know either - me and DW just thought 'oooooh what lovely colours!'.

oopsacoconut · 24/09/2009 20:05

I have a selection of these I also prefer a china mug for my tea and according to my DH that makes me a ponce!

hairygodmother · 24/09/2009 20:18

I'm a big fan of Typhoon mugs, my sister gave me some for Christmas and they're just the right size for a decent cup of coffee.

These are the ones she gave me.

ABetaDad, they also do ones inspired by Pantone here although I like yours better. I have a Pantone book from the days when I used to have a job life, who'd have thought it could ever be so beautiful?!

said · 25/09/2009 17:09

Oh, more nice ones to look at, thanks. Oops, tea tastes better in a china mug. It is not poncification; it is Fact. Actually, I think the china keeps it hotter longer. Or I might have made that up.
