do you have a poncy bike e.g. pashley?

if so, are they worth it? do they fill you with joy everytime you use it or do you wish you had spend your money on some aluminium and decent gears.

I have a Pashley. I love it. I find it much more comfortable than any other bike I've ever had. BUT I do not use it extensively. Nipping to shops. The odd cycle round the park. And I just love the "look" of it so much more than other types of bikes.

Not sure that's going to help you much but that's my contribution....

Oh - and I have the Princess Sovereign - if that info is any use to you...

princess sovereign is lovely but i felt abit hemmed in behind the handle bars.

I have my mum's old bike currently but have started lusting after a more old fashioned bike with a comfy seat and lovely handlebars, and no way your trouser legs get tangled up in the chain

I just bought off ebay a poncetastic Pashley trike with seats on the back of the bike for the children.

I'm pretty inept on a bike, but I do love this and its dangerous enchanting way of veering to the right. But I have only ridden it properly twice.

DP has got a Pashley tube rider. It's very cool and well built. I would like one myself, but we don't have a garage or shed - one bike in the dining room is enough!

Would love to get DS a Pashley Pickle when he is big enough though...

Dh and I have Gazelles. Comfortable and magnificent - I highly recommend them. The Dutch Royal family ride them don't you know

bobbins generally have a back pedal brake, which i wasn't mad about.

Yes, was freaked out by that on one bike i tried out, so will remove bobbin from my short list

I have a Velorbis - v similar to Pashley as I too am style over substance but boy is it HEAVY! Wish I'd kept hold of my £15 ebay Raleigh. Love the seating position, love the retro styling, love the little tool kit on the rear rack but lugging it up and down steps or even just in and out the house............

Not been on it since I was 7 months pregnant, can't be arsed and will be selling on ebay this summer to fund holiday spends.........
