Nothing, though is tempting with funds, but I know it NEEDS to go else where this time

ah good for you, you going to try the buggyboard? same lady i bought mine off for same price, very pleased as they are £50 upwards in shops!

i need to get selling my quest and covers now xt is on way.

vintagerose · 25/04/2009 13:37

Hi everyone, just need some opinions please! I currently have an icandy cherry which I loooove, after having about a million prams. I have just seen that they have brought out a new purple (mulberry) version which looks beautiful and am having palpitations at the thought of not having one! My dd is 16 months so I'm not sure if I can justify a new, expensive pram as I have no idea how long she will need it and dp will kill me! But I want it, I really really want it stamps feet Does anyone know how much they are and if there is any point buying a proper pram at this late stage? Could my covers be dyed purple? so I can Thanks!

nicolamumof3 · 25/04/2009 13:40

hi! no point in asking us! we will all say yes!! the cherry is lovely i had one in fudge, but couldn't keep it as didn't have enough storage. haven't a clue how much they cost new as they aren't sold online are they?

mrspnut · 25/04/2009 13:48

I have a question too, ladies.

How big a child does a zapp take? My DD2 is nearly 3 but is in 3-4 clothes, she looks very big in her Loola but doesn't use it all that often.

We were going to get a small stroller to take on holiday with us this year and I have seen a Zapp on ebay for a reasonable price which may do but not is she's going to look like she's perched in a doll's pram.

What do you think? And also I'm quite tall as is my OH, are the handles really low down?

nicolamumof3 · 25/04/2009 13:50

yes if your tall you will struggle with the zapp tbh. i loved my zapp my 3yr old (average size) was fine in it but think would prob be comfier in a maclaren techno xt and the handle height would be much better.

mrspnut · 25/04/2009 13:53

Thanks :D

I might nip down to Mothercare and toys r us to try both out. The zapp is under £20 though and is in the next town to us so it would be perfect for one summer's use.

buggylovinmummy · 25/04/2009 14:06

Mrspnut-I loved my zapp but the handle is quite low (fine for me as im only 5"2) if you are tall i wouldnt recommend it.

I sold mine when my ds was 2.7 as he looked really big in it and he didnt like going in it as he said it hurt him so im guessing he was trying to say it was uncomfortable.

Hes quite a big boy though looks nearer 3 1/2

They are really lovely and light to push though.

I got the maclaren xt after that and it was a great size for him but was heavier to push than the zapp. Still really liked it though.

mamadiva · 25/04/2009 14:10

Afternoon everyone,

Dis yeay for selling XT, I'd get a buggyboard with the funds and use the rest for what you have too, totally justifiable then ;).

Jennie and to hear about your friends pram, she must be gutted defo get to the local papers about incident and make sure you mention what the receptionist said. As if a new mum does'nt ahve enough to deal with!

Pebbles I had a raincover like the Koodi one on my Energy and I used it for a week! It was UGLY on pram and DS hated it because he could'nt really see what was going on around him, when I got fed up with it I gave it to a friend and her DD was the same as well as the girl she gave it to after that.

The roadster one is great! Excellent quality and fits perfectly onto BJCM, I fold mine up and put it in the basket or if I need to it goes in the back of teh seat.

Glad you like BJCM and yeay at fin ally getting one LOL am jealous you got black though

mamadiva · 25/04/2009 14:14

mrspnut My DS is a big 'un too. He is 2.10YO but has been being mistaken for a 3YO since he was about 2.3YO

I had an XT but was quite heavy too push and DS would not stop putting his feet on the wheels so had to get rid he also looked a wee bit scrunched in it when he had his legs on footrest.

The Baby jogger city mini is fab for big kids, my DS sits in it comfortably and still has plenty of rooomto grow. Finally found a pushchair I am happy with! I walk a fair few miles a few times a week with it and we have had no problems, seems to be comfy in it and great to fold, also my DP is 6ft 2 and I am 5ft 3 but none of us have a problem with handle height as it is curved so different bits suitable for different heights. Would recommend.

mrspnut · 25/04/2009 16:07

Thanks again, the BJCM is too expensive for what we need as is a new XT.

She rarely uses the pushchair any more and we want it on holiday so she can have a sleep if she wants to when we're out and about.

We used to have a Jane Energy which would have been ideal but I sold it to buy my Loola.

mamadiva · 25/04/2009 16:11

I bought my XT from Ebay for £50, if you could stretch that far I'd go for it. I think Energy's are pretty cheap there too.

What kind of budget are you looking at?

claret1980 · 25/04/2009 16:17

I have seen a bargain britax vigour on ebay for BIN £59.99. Trouble is she is in aberdeenshire & won't courier it as she doesn't have a box big enough. I did suggest bubble wrap and bin bags. Although I have been looking at Icandy apple or cherry, not sure what the difference is though.

vintagerose if you do decide to sell, just let me know.

I'm putting my quinny buzz on ebay tonight, along with the silver XT comfort pack and all the buzz accessories.

mrspnut · 25/04/2009 16:20

I was thinking under £30 tbh, it really is just for this one last holiday because I can't see her needing one next year and I will still use my Loola at home.

claret1980 · 25/04/2009 16:22

If you are just going on hols then try a Mothercare Jive.

mamadiva · 25/04/2009 16:25

can't you just use your loola? They fold quite small anyway.

nicolamumof3 · 25/04/2009 16:29

i don't know how you manage to push a toddler in a loola theyre sooooo heavy! lol.

mamadiva · 25/04/2009 16:32

Jive

mamadiva · 25/04/2009 16:34

I don't think they are too bad nicola, but then again my first pram was an Emmaljunga cerox which are like bloody tanks had that until DS was 18m and it did'nt have swivel wheels.

mrspnut · 25/04/2009 16:34

I'll look up a mothercare Jive thanks.

We're not taking the Loola because it's so heavy and it is such a faff trying to get it in and out of the hire car and on the plane etc. I fancied a Zapp because I could almost do it up and stick it in a rucksack as hand luggage.

I bet we'll go to the bother of buying a new buggy and she won't bother using it at all. but if we don't she'll want Daddy to carry her every where and he'll end up with a bad back and I'll have to carry all my own shopping.

mamadiva · 25/04/2009 16:37

zapp would be comfier than jive.

Jive has tiny seat.
