I see so many of these about but recently met someone who said hers started falling apart shortly after purchase.

Wondering if there are are any P&T owners out there who could give me some feedback?

it'll be best one for buses. Fine if you mainly window shop

If yr 2.5 yr old can walk it might not be a bad choice cos she won't be in it all the time / that long. Works fine as a single. I never bother taking the other seat off when I'm using it for just the 1 child. Becomes convenient shopping seat

Is decent sling and using the pushchair you have already an option?

BumblBeee · 07/02/2009 23:29

Just looked at nipper 360, would worry about getting this onto buses or into shops?

Looked for EmmalJunga but only saw single version of this make.

Should have mentioned earlier that I need a double.

Re: Is decent sling and using the pushchair you have already an option?

Yes, will try this. There will be times when I would like new baby to be sleeping in a structure away from me though.

The other bad side is my DD outgrew Bugaboo at age 1.5 so am using really annoying-to-push MacLaren now. Am keen to go back to something more comfortable.

BumblBeee · 07/02/2009 23:33

Am also thinking about buying a buggy board but not sure if it would work for DD.

dollydimple9 · 08/02/2009 11:05

I had my dd in oct 08 when my older dd was 2 and half as i had a bugaboo i bought the board and twoo seat as i swore id never have a double as i hate them, anyway dd loved the board but i found it a pain getting up and down kerbs and sticks out too much ,so after much thought and with the bad weather last week and feeling sorry for older dd getting cold i gave in and bought a phil and teds pink camo sport, all i can say is i so wish id bought one 4 months ago its fab much easier then bug and board and both dd's love it, got mine as a bargin off kiddicare £299 with newborn nest £150 off. Hth

BumblBeee · 10/02/2009 18:38

Right then, thinking I may be visiting the kiddicare website in a few minutes.....

I got my e3 just before the sport cam,e out, about two years ago, and it has been hammered, but I reckon it's good for another few years.

I totally disagree with whoever said it was pointless to fold, you clip off the back seat and the front wheel which takes all of um 20 seconds, and it is virtually flat.and it's very easy to put up again, really really easy. Everyone I know who has tried another type of double buggy has ended up getting a p&t and binning the other

2pt4kids · 10/02/2009 18:47

P&T is great as double. Best one I found.
I've had mine over 2 years now and still going strong!

BumblBeee · 10/02/2009 18:50

What does all this "Pack 35" "pack 24" business mean? Just looked at Kiddicare but do not know what they are on about?1

The link to the emmaljunga website is here. We have the Twin City Cross, and to be honest the width is not a problem anywhere - even small boutiques (and how many of those do we go in with 2 small children?!!) There are loads of bargains on ebay if you keep a look out.

claret1980 · 10/02/2009 22:54

I have a P&T Sport. I totally love it! It is great to push and both my ds ar compfy in it. Great to roll on and off buses.

The only thing that is a PITA is that the cocoon doesn't seem to be very long. My ds2 is 13 weeks and won't be in it much longer. He is too small to go in the doubles seat thou. Can't fold it either, but I don't drive so DH does that when we go out in the car.

Thumbs up!

BumblBeee · 11/02/2009 22:06

Re: the cocoon doesn't seem to be very long

That is worrying as my last baby was kind of long

Thanks for the link nannygirl

I love my Sport

AnnasBananas · 14/02/2009 18:31

The best double out there, I have the Sport and its excellent. Just about to ebay it as dd1 is four now so I'm going back to my Jane with the surfer board.

The fabric can fray when scuffed, but the distributers will replace without question if its a genuine warranty claim (ie not for normal wear and tear).

Avoid the lighter colours, they will mark easily. We have the charcoal and it's been great and still looks very good after a year.

I wouldn't recommend it as a single really. But its versatility can't be matched. Looks great too.

PS I had a Jane Powertwin and sold it for the P&T, didn't like the Powertwin at all.

kittywise · 14/02/2009 18:34

Mine is a shocker to steer and very unstable. I really wouldn't recommend.

noonki · 14/02/2009 18:45

kittywise - ours was v difficult to steer, til we took the front wheel off and put it back on again (properly probably!) and it works brilliantly now.

kittywise · 14/02/2009 19:22

Oh thanks noonki, might try that. It's like a very, very badly behaved supermarket trolly

I love my P&T. Yes, there are drawbacks, but there is no perfect pushchair IMO. I have a buggy clip which fits on the handle to hang bags from and you don't need a cocoon to use the lie flat seat for the newborn. Mine steers well off road and on, carries two children and some shopping and it is the best pushchair I've had. (And I've had a few with my 4DCs).

MegBusset · 15/02/2009 12:40

Can someone explain the difference between the E3 and Sport? Am looking at both on eBay...

misdee · 15/02/2009 12:47

i prefer my abc buggy

AnnasBananas · 15/02/2009 12:57

E3 is the earlier model, the handle bar is not really adjustable (you can take it out and turn it upside down to make it slightly higher or lower) whereas the Sport has a height adjusting handle which four or five heights.

The Sport wheels are quick-release.

In the Sport blurb it mentioned that there were 20 (I think) improvements between the E3 and Sport but the frame hasn't really changed. The seat design might be a little different, too.

Sport double seat reclines.

Can't think of any others but someoe else might be able to remember the rest of them!

misdee · 15/02/2009 12:58

theres the vibe and the dash.

snooks · 15/02/2009 12:59

had my e3 double for 3.5 years, used virtually every day and still going strong. it's my workhouse and has made my life so mush easier, my 4 yr old walks now so I have a 2.8yr old in the front with a 10mth old in the back. getting a bit scuffed as you can imagine but never had any major problems - has coped brilliantly with the snow/ice recently.

usually walk to preschool pushing it with one hand (round corners, uphill etc) and holding the 4 yr old by my other hand.... excellent.

agree that the cocoon baby bit isn't very long, both of my younger two I had to put in the rear upright seat before I would have liked (about 4 months rather than 6) but that is the only price I have had to pay.... just used to pad out the seat/straps a bit with a blanket and it's only for a couple of months at most. (altho' I think the newer models - can't remember the names - have a slightly reclining rear seat. hth.

sorry for no caps, am bf dd3

snooks · 15/02/2009 12:59

whoops meant workhorse not workhouse
