they tend to tip if shopping is put on the handles. The way they're designed, the child acts as the counterweight.

nicolamumof3 · 15/01/2009 20:15

oh i don't usually put shopping on handles hate that! well maybe one small bag but never load them up. have the p&t if im going shopping

I had one and only used it a small amount, admittedly, as ds was at nursery full time but it was great around town or to the zoo etc. I bought it for travelling as it was ideal for going on the plane and neat in the car boot. It isn't great if you want to carry loads of bags and probably would tip if you put shopping over the handles and the child were to get up. I am not sure if I would recommend one for use all day every day but for my occasional use it was great.

Have a Zapp, not tried the Zia but it

a) lies flat
b) has a basket

which are the two major flaws with the Zapp.(that it doesn't have those things iyswim )

Plus is 50 quid cheaper...

nicolamumof3 · 15/01/2009 20:27

but i LURVE the zapp colours!!

i have a p&t and maclaren too i should add!

I love my Quinny Zapp. It does tip but only if you have loads of heavy shopping on the back. I have never noticed it getting caught in potholes and it pushes really easy, even one handed.

differentID · 15/01/2009 20:39

I'm afraid I have been known to describe it as snot green to my colleagues. sorry.

h0ney · 15/01/2009 20:42

I have had two and think they are great. You can't load them up with shopping but you can buy attachements from 'buggy baskets' I think that fit neatly on the back or underneath the buggy. My two have no problem falling asleep in it either. It is very manouverable as well

fryalot · 15/01/2009 20:44

I love my zapp.

It has its problems, no shopping basket, no real place to hang shopping bags, it doesn't lie flat, it doesn't really fit a buggy board

But, it is comfortable, my kids fight over who gets to sit in it; it is big enough that you won't need to buy a larger pushchair as your child grows; you can push it easily (very easily) with one hand; it is really light and flexible.

And if I really need to, I can fit both my toddlers in it (if they are good and prepared to squash up a bit)

nicolamumof3 · 15/01/2009 20:50

squonk fab review ha,ha!! how old are dcs? also shesells and h0ney how old are you dcs too? if you don't mind me asking? as maybe it makes a difference?

dd2 has been in hers since 4 months old and she is still in it now @ 19 months old. I have always loved my Quinny.

LaDiDaDi · 15/01/2009 20:53

I quite like mine.

It has tipped over a few times (once was on the bus, when despite having the brake on it tipped as the driver braked heavily) BUT it is light, easy to push and folds up small.

I'e had it since dd was around 16 months, she will still go in it now at 32 months but prefers to walk. We graduated to it from a Buzz.

rubyslippers · 15/01/2009 20:54

i hate my Zapp

it tips, doesn't recline and no shopping basket

it does however fold up v small whcih is why we got it

fryalot · 15/01/2009 20:57

dd2 is 4 and ds is 3.

Nowadays we only use it for particularly long walks as they can both walk reasonable distances.

They do both still fit in it though (together if they squish up)

ohdearwhatamess · 15/01/2009 21:06

Depends what you're going to be using it for.

Mine was bought as a 2nd pushchair to fit in dh's tiny car boot, other pushchair being a P&T (used mainly for dog walks).

The Zapp is great on pavements and in situations where you need to push one-handed (for me on pre-school run). Really nice to push (I can't push the P&T one-handed at all). Don't really use it for shopping, and it has never tipped over with a child in it.

Can be a PITA to fold/unfold. I don't have any problems, but dh doesn't have the knack.

nicolamumof3 · 15/01/2009 21:19

i reallly want to try one now!! but £150 for the new colours!! need to sell another pushchair first.

OP posts:
ohdearwhatamess · 15/01/2009 21:40

I'm sure I only paid about half that for mine (new).

nicolamumof3 · 15/01/2009 21:42

mmmh i know its the damn new 2009 colours!!!

Only men encounter problems while folding/unfolding a Zapp. I can do mine fine, as can either of my sisters. It seems to have a malfunction that cause Dh and my grandad to swear profously whilst folding it though

notreallycutoutforthis · 15/01/2009 21:46

I loved my zapp, bought specifically to fit into the boot of my car. Did what it said on the tin, but not a replacement for proper buggy (which was the stokke)

fryalot · 15/01/2009 21:47

tis a good point about the folding and unfolding of the zapp, actually.

It is completely impossible for any person with a penis to be able to do it.

notreallycutoutforthis · 15/01/2009 21:51

People with penises can only operate life-enhancing equipment - dishwashers, computers, tvs and pvrs etc. Life-enabling equipment is completely different. Tis a well known fact.
