gosh!

May have to buy one

horsemadgal · 15/01/2009 22:27

I loved my Zapp. But only suitable from around 18 months. So easy to push and folds so weeny.
I stuck one of those net bags on the back and that was fab, but you can buy buggy baskets to go underneath also.

It doesn't usually tip with older kids in and my son slept in it fine.

Oh and yes funnily enough hubby couldn't fold it!!

nicolamumof3 · 16/01/2009 08:07

thanks for that hmg, thats what im thinking my son is quite a chunk at 18m i'd be amazed if anything would tip with him in it!!!

I love my zapp,it is so light to push and i can do it with one hand while holding my ds hand if he is walking. As other people have said though it will tip backwards if you put too many bags on the handles but you are not meant to do that anyway. It has never got stuck on any stones and tipped over. If you use the zapp properly they are lovely pushchairs. Mmmmm not so sure i do want to swap it for something else now

BusyBeeWithThree · 16/01/2009 12:26

I used to have a Zapp and my one gripe was that it doesn't stay folded when folded IYSWIM Have they updated this now? It looks like they have on their website here or is she just holding it secretly. Mine would just unfold so had to carry it two handed.

2pt4kids · 16/01/2009 12:28

zapp is shit imo

cali · 16/01/2009 12:31

Loved my Zapp, used it from when dd1 was 10mo.

Only able to use it for just over a year as front wheel fell off and we were unable to fix it, was just out of the warranty too.

BusyBeeWithThree · 16/01/2009 12:35

But does it stay together when folded? Please...

cali · 16/01/2009 12:37

mine did, never had any issues with it opening once folded.

BusyBeeWithThree · 16/01/2009 12:39

Thanks Cali, I think the design has changed as you used to buy it with the bag. Now I have noticed the bag is an extra so they have probably changed it.

cali · 16/01/2009 12:43

I got a net bag for mine off ebay, was great.

Think mine broke thanks to BA as it wasn't long after we had flown that the wheel fell off.
Am tempted to buy another one but dh would freak and have a loola which I just love, even if it is heavy!!

BusyBeeWithThree · 16/01/2009 12:45

Good prices for the new colours here

cali · 16/01/2009 12:50

Please do not tempt me!

PuppyMonkey · 16/01/2009 12:55

Mine is ok - only use it for quick nips here and there though cos of the shopping bags prob! We got it cheap from Toys R Us with some vouchers so, hey ho.

My DP folds ours up fine (he can unfold it one handed - I can't quite work out how). Does this make him eligible for a MN prize?

buggylovinmummy · 16/01/2009 13:03

Mine stays folded but you have to make sure you push it down quite hard

Haribosmummy · 16/01/2009 13:06

I love my Zapp BUT

I use it only for travelling
It IS unstable and you have to really watch uneven pavements.
It's small and convienient but does NOT do what a proper buggy does. You will still need one.

And, I agree with Squonk - my DH find it impossible to fold / unfold, even though I find it totally straightforward.

horsemadgal · 16/01/2009 13:11

If you hold it with the part at the bottom of the footrest (it's like 2 holes) it won't unfold.

nicolamumof3 · 16/01/2009 13:16

oh no it would never be my 'only buggy' i have a collection

h0ney · 16/01/2009 14:56

mine are 3 and 18 months but been using it since the eldest was about 11 months x

Haribosmummy · 16/01/2009 14:57

I have to say, I travel alot and this buggy is great on aeroplanes...

nicolamumof3 · 17/01/2009 14:54

well i think i've decided to get one, if i don't like theres always the 'for sale' boards!!

OP posts:
PrammyMammy · 17/01/2009 19:33

i didn't like it at all, was way too low, poor ds couldn't sleep in it because his head kept flopping forward, it was a pain to push, if you hit a tiny stone it would stop, and stones got stuck in the wheels so it wouldn't move. I thought it was okay to use for a quick trip to the shop or if you had to do something quickly, but that was it really.
I haven't used the Zia, but i heard they were flimsy, i think they look better that the Zapp though. Do they fold the same?

nicolamumof3 · 21/01/2009 07:59

my zapp arrived yesterday, and so far so good! i really like it for what it is a lightweight short term buggy! and it folds soooo small you hardly know its there!

OP posts:
LittleMadeline · 24/01/2009 10:39

I hate my Zapp. I was given it by my SIL after I had my latest baby. He's looks so uncomfortable in it, it's awkward to fold and I took the top of my finger off putting it up once (seriously, it bled for like 3 hours!) I'd worry about a child putting it's finger on the fold button.

I have a Pliko P3 too which is big and bulky, but miles better than the Zapp. We keep it in the book of DHs car for emergencies.

You could do so much better!

Lotster · 24/01/2009 12:02

Pro's:

-folds super small
-Lightweight
-Really easy for using maxi cosy carseat (so great for keeping in the boot.)

Con's:
-tips back on you when LO gets out and you have a bag over the handle
-Can't recline for naps
-Rattles like a bastard when you are walking down the pavement
