Is there any such thing as a double buggy which is rear-facing?

Ideally, as it would be for a toddler and a newborn, the newborn bit would be rear-facing and the toddler bit would be forward-facing! However, my boss pointed out to me the other day that my perfect double buggy would be one based on the design of a shopping trolley - and in fact I wondered about just using a shopping trolley! Hey - it would be perfect, and it would only cost £1!!!

Any advice welcomed!

nappyaddict · 10/12/2008 10:59

duo walker

LoolaBoys · 10/12/2008 11:03

I think mine is the cheapest of the lot. Woo hoo.

theSuburbanDryad · 10/12/2008 11:04

Wow - loads of options there! Thanks!

Definitely like the look of the mothercare one, just need to find someone who'll give us £400 now!!

the problem with the mothercare one and also the ABC one is that the seats aren't very good for newborns. Despite saying suitable from birth on some websites other websites say suitable from 6 months due to new european guidelines.

theSuburbanDryad · 10/12/2008 11:09

Actually, I think this is the cheapest!

see

theSuburbanDryad · 10/12/2008 11:12

Oh yeah - that one's only suitable from 6 months. How annoying.

THIS is what you want!!

LoolaBoys · 10/12/2008 11:20

Ah, well I knew Mothercare wouldn't be the cheapest place to buy it I just knew I could get a link from thier website. THey do a carrycot to go with it too. You can buy just one carrycot and have the seat on the other side. Perfecto!
carrycot

theSuburbanDryad · 10/12/2008 11:21

Those double decker buggies look really unsafe!!

LoolaBoys · 10/12/2008 11:21

Set up like this

theSuburbanDryad · 10/12/2008 11:30

I think that's the one which needs the carrycot to make it suitable from birth. So it would be like this, and I think the carrycot is another £110!!

OP posts:
theSuburbanDryad · 10/12/2008 11:32

It's really nice though - just not sure I can justify spending over £500 on a buggy!!

I would check in a store to see how far the seat reclines. In most of these type of pushchairs they recline quite far and may be fine for the newborn anyway. Worth a look at least.

LoolaBoys · 10/12/2008 12:04

It is also cheaper on this website Carrycot is cheaper too, although it is still expensive

LoolaBoys · 10/12/2008 12:06

You can get it with one carrycot for a total of £447.28, with free postage too on the above website
