Baby socks that don't fall off? Do they exist?

I am heartily sick of my baby's socks constantly falling off or being pulled off. Has anyone got any recommendations for any particular brand of sock that performs better than others in this respect?

I was also thinking of some moccassin-`type thing with grips on soles to keep his feet warm in the winter. He is 10 months old and crawling / cruising and his bare feet get a bit cold.

Gap socks are great for staying on.

baby gap ones are great and wash really well... H&M have been pretty good too!!!

I agree that gap socks are great, but the best thing for girls and boys is putting tights on under trousers. Not good if walking or cruising, but great for crawlers.

I have bought DD3 those slipper boots things, keep her feet warm and keep her socks on.

I put tights under my DD's trousers too.

I find those long towelling type ones stay on better, but not forever. They're not particularly aesthetically pleasing, however.

I used to put those soft 'shoes' on in a larger size over the top of the towelling socks and that would stay on for a bit. When baby was tiny I just dressed her in all in ones with feet most of the time, though, so that it wasn't a problem.

Sock-ons are good. They're lycra, a bit smaller than socks, they don't have heels or toes and don't go the leg, JoJo sell them. You fit them on over the sock and they hold them on. Takes a determined child to get them off.

When Tink was tiny we'd micropore her socks on!

We were given some Ralph Lauren socks. They did stay on better than the other socks we had (Gap, Next etc). But they still got poop on them

Mothercare sell boy's tights if it is of interest. And why is it always just one sock that falls off. It is the same gremlins that live in the washing machine that steal babies' socks off their feet. And then the old biddies say "Oh poor baby with the cold feet" while giving you the evils

and if all that fails...tights are good even for boys. kinda nordic/scandinavian/robin hood stylee.

Boots do baby & child moccasin sox so do H&M. DD lived in them and still does. They are fab.

I must add that I didn't tape onto her skin, we taped around her ankle so the fabric was tighter then folded them back over themselves so it couldn't be seen. She was tiny, with no fat on her legs she had nothing for the socks to hold onto.

you need pods. Mine had them and they never fell off!

That book on baby products says Gap are best.

Genuine question: how necessary are socks on babies? Do their little feet get cold? I'm a ftm due in October so this info is v useful.
Also- socks & booties or is either/or fine?

Did my first wash of baby's clothes yesterday and I have to say I totally melted at the tiiiiny socks.
