Is theree an alternative to the appalling-quality BUNNY CLOCK?

We're now on our 2nd bunny clock - sent the first one back as it was forever jamming and seemed to require a 'knack' to set. The 2nd one is no better - worked for a while but is now completely stuck. I'm loath to buy a 3rd, but as a concept it is a good one - worked a bit with DD1 and I desperately need something for DD2 who regularly gets up at 5am.

Is there anything else?

Hi, We have this one we also had the bunny and it was pardon my french crap! this one is so much better they cant fiddle with it!

amidaiwish · 06/08/2008 08:15

yes i have had both, the pop up bunny one is the most useless bit of cr@p!

here

franch · 06/08/2008 08:27

Brilliant - thanks so much - am ordering one now from ebay

they have a couple of different ones in the new argos book.there reasonably priced too.

Lemontart · 06/08/2008 08:42

I had the kidsleep - it is fantastic and totally recommend it. Much nicer than the nasty bunny clock (my DD worked out how to fiddle that one on the same day as we got it - pointless).

franch · 28/01/2009 11:22

Well we got the kidsleep and it lasted about 6 months ...

What is it with us and bunny clocks?

OP posts:
franch · 28/01/2009 11:27

Can't find any on argos, maybe they don't do them any more

what you want to do is buy a cheapo clock. Paint sections of it red orange and green.
set the time to your advantage, say " red is stay in bed, orange is play in room, green is come out"

job done

cmotdibbler · 28/01/2009 11:29

We have the Kidsleep. My 2.8 yr old loves it dearly, but worked out how to wake bunny up the day we bought it

CountessDracula · 28/01/2009 11:29

dd has a winnnie the poo one that is fine

franch · 28/01/2009 11:35

Is that what you've done KW? Very clever. Thing is, we're a bit inconsistent about what's an acceptable time to emerge - weekends vs weekdays etc ... But I might do it anyway.

Where does the winnie one come from CD?

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 28/01/2009 11:36

I got it from someone here I think
hang on

franch · 28/01/2009 11:36

I suppose this might work but is bloody expensive - might find one on ebay I suppose - not entirely convinced

CountessDracula · 28/01/2009 11:41

sorry i can't find one now it was a while ago

quickdrawmcgraw · 28/01/2009 11:43

I use a night light on a timer and it works brilliantly. The light comes on at 7am and they are not allowed up until the light is on.

Much cheaper than buying a specific child's clock.

KarlWrenbury · 28/01/2009 11:45

I am incredibly clever.
Yes try that.

franch · 28/01/2009 11:47

Not to worry, thanks for trying CD.

That's a good idea too mcgraw. I'd have to persuade her to do without the nightlight in the nighttime tho - at the moment she'd yell if she woke up in darkness.

OP posts:
franch · 28/01/2009 11:50

You are, KW! Other thing is tho, I'm not 100% sure she'd get it - ie I'd have to explain about big hands and little hands etc. (She's 3y4m.) She'd def get the light idea more easily, but she still 'needs' a light on in the night.

Hmm.

Scootergrrrl · 28/01/2009 11:56

What about a timer plugged into a string of fairy lights or something?

NotQuiteCockney · 28/01/2009 11:57

Yes, night light on a timer is the trick. We use this for DS1.

sinkingfast · 28/01/2009 12:00

Why don't you say she can't get up until the light is off?

franch · 28/01/2009 12:01

Bloody genius Scooter! Can't guarantee anything would work, but she'd love that!

Thanks all - think that's what I'll try

OP posts:
franch · 28/01/2009 12:02

Oh - that's clever too sinkingfast. What an inventive lot.

OP posts:
quickdrawmcgraw · 28/01/2009 12:20

The trick is making the night light very dim so that it doesn't actually wake them. Fairy lights would be brillant as they are not usually that bright.

Divineintervention · 28/01/2009 12:24

We have cheap ikea fairy lights around their door on a timer....lights off stay in bed lights on get up!!!
