Have read about this bike, all I know about it is that it can take two child seats and is Italian. Have 'googled' it but cannot find where to buy - cany anyone help?

there is a pull along that Pashley do, that has two seats with pedals, that attach to the adult bike, v expensive.

this isn't what I was thinking of but it is good

Takver · 02/07/2008 20:33

If you can't find one, have you thought of either a kiddy back tandem with child seat (have met a woman who did this, seemed to work well), or alternatively a Pashley U+2 as mentioned above. I assume that a trailer isn't an option?
There is also a german tagalong bike + childseat combination.
I know that the U+2 is expensive, but I imagine that the family bike would be too.
I used to use a Phillips double tagalong bike, and it was very useful although bloody hard work up the hills.

It is so difficult to know what to do, not really a cyclist so not up on all the ins and outs. The other option I am considering is a ordinary bike plus child seat that will seat a child up to six years plus a hookie thing that you attach to a four year old's ordinary bike when they get tired traliergate can't remember what it is called. Need to go to a specialist shop, went into Evans today and they were not at all helpful.

How old are your children kafka, and do you want the bike for day to day transport or for trips out? And do you live somewhere flat or very hilly? I think that different things might be appropriate, depending.

4.6 and 2 and really need bike for the school run/short trips with one or both children. School has precipitated my move towards a bike as it is a half hour walk without a bike. Live in London, reasonably flat ish some hills - thanks Takver appreciate any advice.

Have you looked at london recumbents site - they have lots of things a bit like the dutch family bike.
I personally would be cautious about having a front and back seat - I found even just one seat made the bike less stable than normal. If the children are small enough for a bike seat, I would go for a trailer instead myself.

I have a trailer buggy that attaches to my bike, I use it three times a day, it takes my two children, max load 45kg, max age is 6.

kafka · 02/07/2008 20:53

I have a look at the recumbent site and they look so big and expensive, do you think that trailing my ds's bike when he is tired plus a child seat would be easier than two childseats on one bike?
