double buggy or tandem

Hi
I'm expecting nr2 in May when my son will be just over 2 years old. I doubt he'll be able to walk for long periods of time so I'm considering buying a cheapish double buggy or tandem.
I've heard that tandems can be a problem because the heavy child sits in the front and this can make it difficult to go up & down kerbs etc. I'm concerned about a double buggy 'cos of the width and being able to get through doors (and whether my 2 year old will fit nicely in the seat).
Does anyone have experience of one/either/both or could anyone recommend either double buggy or tandem. I know that there are reviews on the site but it's just confused me more.
Thanks

melitaaus - you can get pannier (sp?) bags for the e3 - they fix on the sides of the buggy and are pretty roomy - easily enough room for nappies etc. I've got two of them plus two bottle holders and together they hold everything I need with room to spare. You could also fit the rain cover in one of them really easily. Hope this helps

Hello, Just to let you know that I am currently advertising a kiwi explorer for sale on the advertisement board. Anyone interested please let me know.

Please can I join the E3 explorer debate? I LOVE the idea of this buggy and am definately going to give it a try . I have on ds who will be 29 months when number 2 arrives in March so I guess I will be using the sibling position for a few months and the either single or tandem. My question is: what raincover do I buy - double or single or both? Has anyone any experience of the sun shade and again do I need double or single for these combinations? Finally I fncy the bacpac thingy that attached to the frame - can you use this in the sibling or tandem position?

THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU!!

Yeah he does - partly because hes a nightmare if walking when shopping and because I need to walk him to and frm nursery.

Does anyone know where to get a waki rider 2 in 1 buggy with integral toddler platform? It's driving me crazy and I just missed one on ebay. We had one ages ago for numbers 2 and 3, now need another for numbers 4 and 5. Hence memory loss........H

post your message again BUT under a new thread..More people will look at it..
Give it a title of something like "waki rider 2 in 1 buggy with integral toddler platform".
