I had to read that about four times before I got what was going on! I kept reading "DH's new baby", thinking that you were being very open-minded about a child your DH was having with another woman!

Disenchanted · 09/06/2008 19:44

PMSL, no his dads new lady is having a baby! So will be DHs half brother or sister

Hes so excited!

No lovely baby gift ideas?

I love those matching layette thingys with the blanket, onesies, bibs, bootees, sleepsuits, all in soft jersey- they're great.

And hey- life would be boring if all families were the same! It's good that DH and yourself are happy for them.

I know, shes a lovely lady and shes only 30, why shouldn't they have some sprogs? lol

I think that might be a bit wasted though as its so hot, booties hats ect tend to get used more with winter newborns.

Ask DH what his favorite childhood toy was then get that - new baby may not be able to play with it for years but it will be a special gift to be like big brother.

Nappyzoneneedsanewname · 09/06/2008 20:10

Photo appt/ sitting? We got one from boots as a present for our dd and it was really good....

wheelybug · 09/06/2008 20:11

A wooden classic toy to grow into (eg. noah's ark)

something from the white company (dd was given a gorgeous blanket at birth from WC) and we still keep it in the car for her.

Disenchanted · 09/06/2008 20:12

[[http://www.thewhitecompany.com/department2.aspx?DepGrpCode=CHD&DepCode=BCTL why did you mention the white company?? I NEED this for DS2! lol]

A tree planted in new baby's honour?
www.treesforlife.org.uk/helping/pat_life.html

or a nice cake for the mum

www.megrivers.com/

the babies get all the gifts...

eenybeeny · 09/06/2008 20:17

just out of sheer curiousity how old is your DH? And for the record I dont mean that in a disapproving way I am just nosy! I think its lovely when people find happiness no matter at what age.

hmm... ideas... What about a lovely cuddly toy and something from here

I got a lovely ceramic plate thingy with my DS's birth details on it and also got one for a friend. I cant actually find those same things on this website now so maybe they dont do them anymore but they do lots of other great stuff!! And its what I would want if I were having another baby!

Disenchanted · 09/06/2008 20:19

My DH is 23, his dad is 44 and his girlfriend is 30

They are very cute, is it the babys fingerprint? how does that work?

mamamamama · 09/06/2008 20:21

What about a blanket?

This is rather nice

eenybeeny · 09/06/2008 20:23

thanks for not minding that I asked I am seriously nosy I love knowing details and sometimes cant resist asking!! It doesnt mean anything negative though I just like to know stuff.

That company is fantastic

You can do this thing where you take the childs foot/hand print yourself on this special paper and then they use the special paper to put the print on anything you want. It is really great!! Explore the website there are loads of different keepsake things on it! I wanted one of everything when DS was born!

mamamamama · 09/06/2008 20:25

Or these

Disenchanted · 09/06/2008 20:25

Lol, you are like me then... I would have asked too.

It would have been more juicy if DH was 40 and his dad was 65 though wouldn't it? with a 30 years old? lol

Disenchanted · 09/06/2008 20:26
