Refillable notebooks with dividers to organise my life

I feel this belongs in a 'stationery' topic but there doesn't seem to be one...

Every year or two, I buy an A5 notebook with dividers which I always use in the same way with sections for eg. meal planning/shopping lists, projects, to do lists etc. But some sections get used up quickly and others remain half used.

I'd really like to buy an organiser with refills and moveable dividers so I can customise it and not end up wasting paper. The obvious one is Filofax but I don't really like them and they feel a bit clunky / dated. I'm sure there are other options around - recommendations please?

I got one by Atoma from Amazon and it’s great.

I follow with interest. I have struggled to find something suitable for a similar need. I did come across some on Temu last year but you may or may not be happy to purchase from them.

Otherwise I picked up a folder think two years ago. Not a folio fax but similar enough but worked well

KevinAndTracy · 31/12/2024 17:10

Does Filofax still exist? (you'll remember if you are old enough)

BaleOfHay · 31/12/2024 17:25

Following with interest. Those Atoma ones don't seem to be sold in the UK?

TribulationPeriwinkle · 31/12/2024 17:27

You can still get them on Amazon, though possibly not as much choice as there used to be. Stoopid Brexit.

I had a filofax in the 80s/90s (so definitely old enough to remember😁) but for that reason I find them a bit dated now

Thank you, this is the kind of thing I'm after, but as you say, there's not a huge amount on Amazon.

Flying tiger often do nice bits, unless you're wanting something more luxurious!

Cottonheadedninhymuggins · 31/12/2024 17:42

I am interested in this also.

Lookingforwardto2025 · 31/12/2024 17:44

I love my Filofax! You can get lovely leather ones which I don’t think look dated.

FortunaMajor · 31/12/2024 18:01

I got this from Dunelm for £8. It's got elastic in the binding with 4 removable exercise books in it. The set of 4 refills are £4. There is another similar one with a few different prettier covers that I think was £10.

I usually go for something more swanky and gorgeous, but then never want to write in it.

I use this loads and have different areas of life in each book. It's really helped me.

I still have my leather Filofax. Its main use is as an address book these days.

Bankholidayhelp · 31/12/2024 18:53

The Dunelm one is like (is) a travellers notebook. Binder with elastics into which you insert 'books'. So you replace individual 'books' as you fill them. And those that you don't use so much stop in for longer . So you could have a 'book' with calendars for birthdays, anniversaries, MOT dates etc. And then other ones for school/work, habit tracking, random notes, books read, exercise done, holiday prep, meal planning etc. you could also have an insert that you use each season (eg Easter, Halloween, Christmas) in it to act as a prompt.

Colouring in is a very relaxing and mindful experience. To the detriment of filling in the details ...

Bankholidayhelp · 31/12/2024 19:00

Alternatively you could have an A5 notebook (eg leuchtturmm (not sure on spelling)) which you use as a bullet journal (Ryder caroll) and then specific sections are basically defunct and the whole note book is just a rolling thing. When I use this method I have and index at the front and then a 12 month calendar next (either stuck in or drawn) with key dates in and the rest just flows out and I'm not fussed about the order. I do the index when it's full - just important things.

I alternate between Google calendars, bullet journalling and travellers notebook.

You're describing filo fax

HaddyAbrams · 31/12/2024 19:36

I had one from amazon. The brand was snopeke

True - I bought some non-refillable ones from them a year or two back - but they are no longer in my town 😐

I think this looks great and nearly bought one before Christmas BUT I don't want four notebooks - I'm after more sections, and the option of refilling/moving paper where needed.

I do love the idea of bullet journalling but I can't quite get my head around it all. I think I want something a bit more basic 😄

I've got a lovely filofax, leather and brightly coloured. There's loads of lovely refills on etsy, and beautiful dividers/tabs/accessories.

Thanks, this looks similar to Atoma mentioned previously, and seems to be compatible with their refills etc too
