Knee high boots

Help, I'm looking for a pair of black leather knee high boots that will do up over my calves. I'm not a great big porker and I've never thought that I had particularly chubby calves, but can I fit into any boots? No, I don't think so.
Have any other average sized mumsnetters out there found a pair that fit their legs recently? Please tell me where.

Alas, I am not tiny but am a shortarse. There is a crucial difference

DillyDally · 22/11/2004 15:52

Does anyone know where to get knee high boots for taller ladies? I am 5 11 and struggle to get anything that looks remotely knee high

spacemonkey · 22/11/2004 15:53

I am only 5 foot 9 but I find lots of supposedly knee high boots are only just over mid calf. I'd love to find some that really did go up to my knees (thereby covering the varicose veins completely)

DillyDally · 22/11/2004 16:01

you can't have varicose veins if italians try and lick your legs

spacemonkey · 22/11/2004 16:02

i was in a dimly lit room and he was wearing beer goggles

lou33 · 22/11/2004 16:24

actually i was there and he wasn't in goggles at all. He plied us with drink and stayed sober himself. She has v long legs though.

DillyDally · 22/11/2004 16:28

Longest ones I found were Kurt geiger but that was last year..nearly reached my knee.
I may need your pulling techniques sm as have found a lovely on a course I am currently attending

spacemonkey · 22/11/2004 16:30

HA! My pulling techniques are as follows:

  • wear Lynx Africa (has a bewitching effect on men, as lou33 will testify)

  • set expectations low (pick ugly blokes - beer goggles will make them handsomer)

  • lean against them slurring "i'm sho shorry but i'm vair vair drunk" and swaying slightly

works every time for me

DillyDally · 22/11/2004 16:33

Will being pissed on a first aid course work? hey I am willing to try most things. Am off to Boots to buy Lynx

DillyDally · 22/11/2004 16:33

By the way, you sound like Rowley thingy from the fast show...

spacemonkey · 22/11/2004 16:34

aha, well I would offer to perform mouth to mouth resuscitation on the swain at whom you have set your cap

DillyDally · 22/11/2004 16:36

Will take lots of mints beforehand and go in armed and dangerous and will smell intoxicatingly lovely (I hope) but with calf length boots

lou33 · 22/11/2004 16:37

don't forget , you have to prod them while exclaiming your drunkenness

spacemonkey · 22/11/2004 16:42
Blush

and run around insisting on talking to everyone

Have just bought lovely suede ones from Boden - heel is only about 2inches, they come to just below my knees and are soooo comfy! I hunted high and low for the perfect pair - I'm 5'10" so didn't want massive heels. They've also got an elastic panel on the inside so accomodate larger calves(!).

JanH · 22/11/2004 21:03

shortarse-but-not-tiny MI did a link to these in another booty thread today. They are £120 but look gorgeous, does anybody know a) how high they are and b) how large a calf they will accommodate?

MrsDoolittle · 23/11/2004 13:33

PMSL Spacemonkey - you are always making me laugh
Think I shall stalk your posts, I'm having a crap day

MrsDoolittle · 23/11/2004 13:38

I really need some wellies for walking the dog during the crap weather.
I like these . Would it be sad? Too much money for wellies? But they would last forever though
