We have a silvercross linear freeway.
Nice bbut massive.

I have £150 max to spend on a yummy buggy. I'd like a very small light one (live in london, use tube) that can face both ways. Ideally not a maclaren - one that looks funky/is a bit different. (Only ever see mclarens/bugaboos here )

Help!!

you see, meep, a bee would work - it does what i want. the issue is
a) i cant afford one
b) if i had one i'd be too embarresed to take it anywhere
cool vid tho!

The loola - you can fold it with the seat on?

meep · 05/04/2008 15:43

sushi - you liked the vit horror - oh dear - there is no hope for you !
Agree re price though - a friend told me to think what you can sell it for on ebay when you no longer need it (that's how I presuaded my dh to take out a 2nd mortgage for the pram I wanted!)

Pannacotta · 05/04/2008 15:50

Yes the Loola is folded with the seat on, its easy to fold and doesnt take up too mcuh room.
Its a lovely looking, comfy buggy IMO (seat is wide and padded and the footmuff is lovely and cosy), but it is a bit heavy compared to Maclarens etc.
The new Loola Up I mentioned before has a better shopping basket and one handle rather than two, making it easier to push.

sushistar · 05/04/2008 15:54

loola up is worth a look (2nd hand!)
Also - someone said earlier bebe confort streety?
Can't find much info on that tho - anyone gpt one?

OP posts:
cosima · 05/04/2008 15:54

theblonde ; everyone with one loves their mountain buggy, not everyone loves their p and t

sushistar · 05/04/2008 15:55

Meep, I don't mind the look of the bee and I like the colours. It's more that they're such a 'lifestyle accessory', I'm a lentil-weaver, it's like reverse snobbery!!

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 05/04/2008 17:40

i doubt you'd get a loola up second hand although try french and german ebay sites cos it's been out longer over there. with the streety you seem to be only able to buy it as a travel system in the uk but if you buy it from france you can buy the pushchair part separately.

scottishmummy · 05/04/2008 17:50

micralite fastfold Vlight easy fold

scottishmummy · 05/04/2008 17:51

loola is V heavy imo
bee is tiny saw one in JLewis i was kind of disapointed in it size

scottishmummy · 05/04/2008 17:54

bebe confort streety

rear facing light weight looks nice

nappyaddict · 05/04/2008 18:00

the loola up is 10.6kg

sushistar · 05/04/2008 18:31

microlite is interesting...

the streety looks ok but i can't seem to find it without the carseat - you have to buy a package.

OP posts:
scottishmummy · 05/04/2008 19:21

yes streety as package, but car seat fits loola so you could ebay the car seat

i am a bugaboo devotee and went to see the bee with intention of buying BUT the bee has a small seat i wasn't impressed tbh. it all felt clunky the hood felt clunky to pull up and not as expansive coverage as i had thought. sorry it is a doozey

nappyaddict · 06/04/2008 08:10

as i said if you buy abroad or on ebay you can get the streety on its own.

loucee · 06/04/2008 08:17

Sushistar, no worries - thought I would mention it anyway as it is a great pram for city living.
Nappyaddict, it's really bizarre but it's so easy to push (key is to get the handle height right) and so easy to lift on and off buses/tubes etc. (sorry this isn't a plug for my buggy it was just in reply to your question above).

Sushi, have you got anywhere with your search?

cherryredretrochick · 06/04/2008 18:51

I havre just (this morning) bought a Britax verve in Mars red, it is spotty, tiny, easy to fold and so lush it is untrue, also it only cost me £105 brand new.

sushistar · 06/04/2008 21:19

Ok, I've clarified what I want a bit:

Must be very light
Must fold small
Must be under £150
Must look a bit different from the standard Maclaren umbrella fold
Must have a reclining seat, as ds is 4 months and I'd like to start using it soon
Must have a reasonable shopping basket

And if it came in interesting colours, so much the better.

I think, looking at that, that what I'm down to is a petit star zia.

Any other suggestions that fit all those requirements?

Thank you all for your help! I've been looking for ages, and just getting mixed up - this thread is so helpful! Seriously would love any more suggestions...

OP posts:
sushistar · 06/04/2008 21:21

The micralite fastfold is the other option, although the colours are more boring.

OP posts:
sushistar · 06/04/2008 21:32

other 2 options are neonato piuma or combi town life which is black, but at least coloured footmuffs.

Any opinions? As we've firmly established, I have crap research skills and appaling taste, so any input gratefully recieved!

nicm · 07/04/2008 00:51

theres a website janeoutlet.es which has a micralite for 100 euro. haven't ordered of them myself but think some people on here have.
