We have a silvercross linear freeway.
Nice bbut massive.

I have £150 max to spend on a yummy buggy. I'd like a very small light one (live in london, use tube) that can face both ways. Ideally not a maclaren - one that looks funky/is a bit different. (Only ever see mclarens/bugaboos here )

Help!!

graco citisport, not sure if it has funky colours and it's not rear facing.

Pannacotta · 04/04/2008 22:29

HAve you seen the Mac XLR? This looks nice, funkier than the others and comes in a good navy and pale blue colourway.
As Misdee says you can really change the look by using liners/Snunkies.
IMO its much more about how practical the buggy is, it needs to work well which Maclarens do hence their popularity.
The new Loola Up might do but is heavier than the Macs.
Both I have mentioned are on this page

what do you all think of beb confort vit?
here but it's discontinued? so maybe ebay...

suwoo · 04/04/2008 22:53

You don't like the bugaboo bee, but you like that bebe confort monstrosity????????? Ask yourself why its been discontinued......

Pannacotta · 04/04/2008 22:54

The Vit doesnt look like it is rear facing and there is no shopping basket underneath either.
IMO it looks pretty flimsy, think the Loola looks much nicer and far more comfortable.

ninja · 04/04/2008 22:56

My sister swears by her micralite and they get a 'Best Buy' from which.

Here's a link to a good value site I think - but the picture isn't great.

I think it's quite funky

sushistar · 04/04/2008 23:00

or this? link

(feel shamed by universal disgust at my appaling taste in buggies )

OP posts:
Pannacotta · 04/04/2008 23:03

Looks fine, hardly funky though...
Also its not rear facing - I thought that was part of the brief?
At the end of the day its matters not a jot what we think - you are going to be using it!!

sushistar · 04/04/2008 23:12

ohhh, but misdee said i couldn't get a rear one that folds up easily.
Soo... it's more interesting than a maclaren tho? A more interesting shape, even tho it's black?

OP posts:
sushistar · 04/04/2008 23:13

look, i clearly have completly appaling and impractical taste in buggies, so all opinions welcome!!

traxx ecuador, loola up, bebe confort streety, m&p skate, m&p herbie. any of those any good?

misdee · 04/04/2008 23:44

nappyaddict, all good, but all heavy. m+p ones will be out of budget even second hand (the skate has just come out and is over £500 isnt it?).

the loola does fold rear facing though. and is ok. but i found it very heavey.

nappyaddict · 04/04/2008 23:46

i think the streety is a light one isn't it?

misdee · 04/04/2008 23:48

apparently its not that good. and aghain i think its out of budget? is it in the uk yet?

misdee · 04/04/2008 23:48

jane/nurse hello? that might be ok?

sushistar · 04/04/2008 23:51

i'll check them out misdee...

OP posts:
sushistar · 05/04/2008 00:03

jane seems above my budget?

OP posts:
sushistar · 05/04/2008 00:05

can't go above 150, but willing to go 2nd hand on ebay.

nurse hello... seem a bit hard to find - will google again...

Not sure if you need lots of shopping storage on your pushchair but if it's just for transport for your child and ease of getting on and off buses then how about a phil and teds smart? Ok I do have an ulterior motive because I am selling mine (with a 2 yr old and 15wk old I had to get a double buggy) but they are fantastic for city use.

here's a demo from you tube: here

let me know if you want more details on mine! looking for £50 incl delivery

sushistar · 05/04/2008 01:21

i doubt i can persuade dh to get one...
he's a traditionalist!

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 05/04/2008 10:15

how does it work if it's only got 2 wheels? sounds like hard work!

sazm · 05/04/2008 12:27

hi,i have a nurse hello, its SO funky the hood is reversable and i LOVE it,BUT it does fold really easy, but in 2 pieces so would be no good if you need to fold it for getting on the bus.
im selling mine if you are thinking of buying one.....

sushistar · 05/04/2008 15:01

oh, thanks for letting me know sazm. Definatly needs to be a one-piece fold!

OP posts:
meep · 05/04/2008 15:14

this will (maybe ) make you buy the bee bee

sazm · 05/04/2008 15:30

oh wow meep, when i first seen the bee i thought WTF lol,it looked so strange, but when you see that video it looks great:lol

how about a loola?
or a chicco trio for me one?
they both go rear facing and fold in one piece
