What are you buying your DH/DP for Christmas?

Have done all my Christmas shopping - apart from DH as usual. Always leave him until last as I never know what to buy.

He already has an iPod, digital camera etc. Was thinking about one of the "Days Out" things but wanted to save that for his birthday (40th).

Have got him some CDs/DVDs from the kids but would like something special from me.

Nowt!!

We are seriously saving for house move so probably won't buy each other stuff. We may treat ourselves to something together if we can arrange it, like going to a hotel for the night for a nice dinner etc!

blueteddy · 21/11/2004 21:07

What about clothing?
That is what I normally buy mine.

lavender2 · 21/11/2004 21:07

have ordered him Himalaya by Michael Palin...and of course a beer in bed and stockings etc on Christmas morning...he doesn't need lots of expensive gifts just showing I care.

RudyDudy · 21/11/2004 21:08

A coffee machine, Blake 7 DVD and a couple of other things but I bought them so long ago I can't remember what they are better go and check I can remember where I've hidden them...

Hulababy · 21/11/2004 21:10

I have absolutely no idea at yet. Looking for inspiration!

blueteddy · 21/11/2004 21:12

How about getting him 2 write u a list?

ladymuck · 21/11/2004 21:18

Some new shirts & a Dilbert desk diary. Usually he gets some new music software or other gizmo.

Slinky · 21/11/2004 21:18

Hmmm tried that Blueteddy - always says he doesn't need anything.

Nowt just like he will get me.

Slinky · 21/11/2004 21:45

Decided - our local Airfield offers "Trial Flying Lessons" for 30/60mins. Think I'm going to book him an hour session for that.

I will NOT be accompanying him though

That's a great present! Its what I was going to get DH before I got a new inspiration, but am definitely going to do that for his birthday or next Christmas.

clairabelle · 21/11/2004 21:57

4x4 experience we have just bought my dad this. Fantastic.

Slinky · 21/11/2004 21:58

Clairabelle

Thinking of something along those lines (4x4, Rallydriving, Ferrari driving) etc for his birthday (40th).

slinky, great present, but do you know what it costs? one of my friends has recently learnt to fly, and it costs about £100 an hour or something to gire the plane, plus paying for the lessons... fortunately my mate is a single, wealthy business type who can indulge his hobby, but you could be starting something expensive here!

lilibet · 22/11/2004 12:44

something that you plug into the computer and into your amplifier and you can put vinyl records onto cd and eliminate all the scratches and stuff.

Sure there must be a better description than that!

yoyo · 22/11/2004 12:51

Lillibet - where did you get this and how much roughly would it cost. My DH would be in heaven if he could have all his vinyl sorted.

NomDePlume · 22/11/2004 12:59

No idea, as usual I'm skint so it will just be a small gesture and possibly a home made book of vouchers entitling him to certain favours

RudyDudy · 22/11/2004 13:18

That sounds like a great idea NDP - perhaps I'll ask DH for a book of lie-in vouchers I know that's probably less exciting than your book but it's what I'd really love right now!

codswallop · 22/11/2004 13:19

One of the big probs with DH's Christmas presents is that his birthday is only a month before Christmas (this coming Sat) and so he gets most of his v short 'wish list' then.

No idea what to get DD really, socci. She's really into movies at the mo so we'll be getting a few DVDs for her, no doubt, and of course we'll be getting her another little charm to go on her bracelet. As for a 'big present', I'm clueless !
