Period Pants

legalseagull · 29/04/2021 20:31

Do they really work? Today I've had two pairs of Modibody pants delivered. Perfect timing as I started my period today.

Can I REALLY go to work just wearing these pants tomorrow? My period is really light. Maybe 2 tampons worth a day - but will they really not let it soak through to my trousers?

Would you take other supplies just in case

Asda sell leak knickers now too. Love Luna. I have 2 pairs for light bladder issues and they're great. You can use them for periods and they have different absorbencies.

I use cheeky wipes and they've honestly changed what was previously a horrific time of month for me. I have two extremely heavy days, I use the heavy flow ones and particularly overnight they have been a total game changer for me. In fact I only have two pairs so about to order another two.

Modibodi are good but mind you use the elastic waistband when pulling them up and down. Mine have huge holes in the material as it tears easily otherwise.

Mine are lace at the top not elastic, but I'll bare this in mind

Good advice about fabric softener. I always use softener so will avoid

And don't wash hot

@Yorkshirecrab

And don't wash hot
Sorry how hot is hot? Is 30 ok? Surely they need a proper wash to be clean. I saw the rinse until the water runs clear advice

I wash them at 30

I've had some cheeky wipes pants for a year and honestly wish I'd bought them yonks ago. Game changer at night time, they're really comfy. My periods seem to be changing so I get one heavy day and last month I thought I'd really test the pants and went for a 7km run in them on the heavy day - no leaking, no sweaty mess, I was really impressed. I chuck mine in the shower with me first then the wash.

There's also a small business in Yorkshire called Lady Days, she makes great pads which I also use.

cmace2 · 29/04/2021 22:19

I rinse them in cold water after use and keep them in a laundry bag sat in a tub of cold water until ready to wash. I wash at 30 degrees with no fabric conditioner on the longest cycle I can find at that temperature. Obviously don't tumble dry either.

Ihaveoflate · 29/04/2021 22:25

Yes, Modibodi really do work. I wear them for a full 24 hrs on very light days with no issue and only change once on moderate days. I do wear tampons on my one heaviest day and use the pants as back up, but that's only because I was too tight to buy any for heavy flow.

mrscee · 29/04/2021 22:40

I use Wuka period pants I have been using them since November and haven't used any other sanitary products since them . They don't leak and are very comfy.

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 29/04/2021 22:52

You don’t need pads with them, you just need to buy the right absorbency.

I LOVE my Modibodi pants. Absolute game changer. I’ve tried other period pants but find Modibodi the most comfy. I can’t rate them enough tbh.

SirVixofVixHall · 29/04/2021 22:59

I wear them and so does my dd. They are so easy, and I really like not throwing towels into landfill every month.
I have ModiBodi and dd has some from asos, and another pair that I can’t remember the brand of. I am going to buy her a couple of pairs of ModiBodi this week. They sell out of colours really quickly, that is the only annoying thing about them.

mamababy1955555 · 29/04/2021 23:38

More love for ModiBodi here, they are so comfortable and it's amazing how much they hold and how dry you feel. I'm so confident in them that I'm pregnant right now and I've bought more heavy/overnight pairs for postpartum - I'm not going to bother with pads. (Unfortunately I forgot how tight they are when you first buy them... not easy to stretch them out in advance with my big belly!!)

legalseagull · 30/04/2021 16:09

Very impressed today! Like I say, I'm only light but there's a definite streak there that I haven't felt at all so they must be fast absorbing. They're also really comfy. I went for the boy short 'sensual' or something they were called - basically means they have a bit of lace haha.

I'll be ordering a couple of more pairs next pay day (£20 each, seriously!)

I'll definitely be suggesting them to my niece and DD when they're old enough
