ELC pirates

Does anyone think that the ELC pirates (pack of 5) are a bit scary for a 3 year old? My parcel has just arrived, (not the ship, that is still to come) and I'm a bit alarmed by the pirates. Is it me or could they give him bad dreams?! They're very realistic, waving daggers and things. Perhaps he's a bit young for them. Any thoughts anybody?

My 3.5 year old has an umhealthy interest in zombies, so pirates are quite tame to him. He loves all that stuff and so does his 5 , almost 6 year old bro. Neither of them have bad dreams after spooky stories , but it depends on the disposition of the child in question I suppose

codswallop · 12/10/2004 17:38

I am a fox I will have you know ( a dead one maybe but still...)

Agy, what exactly are they doing to worry you so much?

agy · 12/10/2004 17:44

They're very realistic - like real, scary men! Very aggresive stances! A couple of them are OK but the others...!

lou33 · 12/10/2004 17:46

Do you want to sell them?

agy · 12/10/2004 17:48

Nahh - not worth it. I'll put them away. He can have them when he's a big boy! I used a discount code so get them cheap.

agy - actually my 3 year old loves them! well he got them for last christmas when he was just three, has played with them and the ship all year, and the only thing he asked for for his 4th birthday last week was more pirates.

he hates ghosts, witches, etc btw.

Cod - is this how you childmind other people's children? Frittering away your time on Mumsnet?

You should be ashamed of yourself

codswallop · 12/10/2004 18:27

oh god no she wetnages ago
ds1 ius in bed asleep!

roisin · 12/10/2004 18:33

What age do your children (boys I presume!) play with the ELC pirate ship and pirates? DS2 is adamant that it's all ds1 wants for Christmas! But I think they are both pretty much past that sort of play now, but sometimes they prove me wrong. They are 5 and 7, but do still play with the wooden trainset, the farm, zoo animals, and so on.

agy · 12/10/2004 19:00

He just said "they're alright, pirates are scary". Wiggled one of the swords, said "they're safe. aren't they?" and went back to the telly! Lot of interest there then!
