I know this is far too early to think about these sort of things.

Harrods have started an online booking service for Father Christmas this year to try and avoid long queues.
If anyone else wants to go it might be worth booking now before popular dates get full. I have heard its good but friends who have gone in the past have had to queue for ages which has
put me off.

Look at websales.omniticket.com/hod/index.cfm?action=FLEX,

Ok.

What is the christmas bear then?

By the look of him, he speaks with a wavering high-pitched crazy voice

Alas, I will never know..

mustrunmore · 25/08/2007 21:31

JeremyVile · 25/08/2007 21:43

Will DS be too young for this?
He'll be 21months.

JeremyVile · 25/08/2007 21:55

'S OK, I've booked!

snowwonder · 25/08/2007 21:57

mustrunmore · 26/08/2007 11:07

Ah ha! I've managed it today! Is this totally free then, or am I going to get stung for £50 when I get there?

Carameli · 04/09/2007 17:07

just asking...it asks for:

Grotto adult...
Grotto Child...

If we want to take dd & ds do we just ask for 2 children OR do we need to book places for dh & I (2 adults) as obviously we will be with....?

Sorry just a litle confussed...

Carameli · 06/09/2007 10:58

I know what you mean, I booked 2 adult tickets for dh and I as well as dd so three in total.

so is this definitely free? I've just done it but I can't believe going to see FC at Harrods is free. Where's the catch?

In response to mustrunmore - I just booked a weekday (Friday) in early December, so no it's not fully booked.

shhhh · 06/09/2007 15:44

from what I can see "meeting santa is free, yet a picture etc is chargable". Think its around £10 which is reasonable for harrods..!

Not booked yet as we live lancashire and we planned to visit in dec and stay with tesco vouchers..as usual all tesco hotel allocations are full. .

Back to the drawing board.!

amidaiwish · 06/09/2007 23:18

someone tell me when there is space
how annoying is that website?
pick a day
pick a time
how many tickets
add to cart
fill in all your details

oh, sorry, none left. please try again.

and repeat
again
and again

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

lovelymoo · 07/09/2007 10:44

I got mine booked for early november. We have taken the kids to see father christmas at harrods every year. we normally go on a sunday and have only ever had to queue for a max of 40mins, the kids love it. They get bottled water and gingerbreadmen while queueing and they get a present from father christmas and its all free unless you want a photo.
Definatly recommend it to anyone and you can have fun in the toy department afterwards.

mustrunmore · 20/09/2007 09:25

Just came back on here to get confirmation that if def is free! Got 3 of our 7 tickets in the post yesterday, but they all say 'remembr your reward card' on them, so I was panicking that the link was to something you needed a reward card to entitle you to! Am hping the other 4 arrive today Also, they dont say whether its adults or child tickets, so I hope I dontget them all mixed up; I think I had to book 3 for a later slot than 4

Thanks for the link Carameli, I love these sorts of things.
I finally managed to book 7 tickets by splitting them up when booking, 2 adults and 2 children then another booking for 1 adult with 2 children (dragging my mum along as well as DH to help out). I had tried to order tickets before but had no luck so hopefully something will come through the post this time. It's an awful site, why can't they just tell you what they have available?
Can't believe it's only Sept and I'm thinking about xmas already. lol.

jai38 · 21/09/2007 16:38

Thanks so much, just got tickets for Xmas Eve so excited!

muppetgirl · 21/09/2007 16:51

Thanks for this, dh works in London and ds is always begging to 'go on the train with daddy' so we'll all go, see the lights and then sleep over in a hotel. Sounds frantic but ds will love it.

muppetgirl · 21/09/2007 16:52

btw it says my order is stil processing but I have checked my email and have the confirmation email with the number that you need to get the tickets.

It has been 'processing' for about 5 mins now...

mustrunmore · 21/09/2007 17:10

My second batch arrived today; same time slot, but 24hrs later I'm so sure I didint do that, but maybe I did, getting tired after hours of trying diffrent days and times. Oh well!

j20baby · 21/09/2007 17:11

what happens if you book but then don't make it?
