So I think I've tried pretty much eveything and nothing leaves me smooth and completely hair free..

What's your favoured method of hair removal down below?

I think it's definitely 'in fashion' in a way that it wasn't say 10-15 years ago.

You don't have to do it though bookthief - I swim quite a lot and don't make a huge effort down there. I only tidy up bits that annoy me other than that, it's au naturel for me and sod the trend!

Troutpout · 27/07/2007 17:01

oooh always tidy for swimming...i went to a ladies night with my mum a few years back (she was learning to swim)...and some of the older ladies were shaggy

grouchyoscar · 27/07/2007 17:01

Glad this thread has come up.

My BF who is being my Gok Fairy IYKWIM advised me not to bother getting my ladies secrets waxed as it always misses some bits as hair there grows in different directions.

I've tried hair removal cream but, It never gets it really smooth and leaves it sore at the top.

Now I just shave but I must have the most rampant pant beard hair on the planet. Even with a new razor it's stubbly in 8 hours

so, suggestions apreciated

There is way more information than I wanted to know about any of you on this thread.

Why do I read these things?

bookthief · 27/07/2007 17:01

Oh I would never take it all off (did once actually out of curiosity and it looked revoltingly prepubescent).

Thing is, I'm reasonably hirsute down there, have never really bothered except for swimming and I had my fair share pre dh . I genuinely don't think it was an issue at all back when I was "out there".

CountessDracula · 27/07/2007 17:02

ooh i agree
all off not nice at all

MascaraOHara · 27/07/2007 17:11

I prefer a small brazilian to a hollywood lol.

Some very very funny comments here. Still don't know what method to try next lol

I had my bikini line waxed once as I was going on a beach holiday and it was v. good. If you are getting it done regularly it's meant to be more effective and less painful.

I just resent paying the cash though.

grouchyoscar · 28/07/2007 16:44

I know what a brazillian is but what the hell is a hollywood?

I found the all off a tad revolting, bit too pre-pubescent too. I used to have a brazillian but...I never got both sides equal or it looked like Hilter's tache (Nooooo, Nazi Minge!!!) and I never really liked the welcome mat for your fanjo effect.

expatinscotland · 28/07/2007 16:51

Brazillian and lady shaver in between waxes.

pirategirl · 28/07/2007 17:18

I live near the beach, and we get a yearly visit from my mother in law (ex) who is german.

nuff said

pirategirl · 28/07/2007 17:36

ok ok, thats my way of saying 'yay' to the removal, of, tidy up, of , trimming of.

cos mil is just.....scary!!

alexw · 28/07/2007 17:51

epilator on legs, bikini and underarms. Have used it for 15 years and really it is painless now, also regrowth very patchy and thin and non existent in some places.

expatinscotland · 28/07/2007 19:06

DEFINITELY tidy!

Didn't matter if I were single or not.

I started having Brazilians lllooonggg before they caught on as a trend, having lived in Brazil and being a ballet student.

I just prefer it that way now.

Personal preference - I've been having Brazilians since I was 16.

Never had a complaint!

SixKindsOfCrisis · 28/07/2007 22:44

Wow. I'm certainly outvoted. I'll get the hedge clippers out.

Beauregard · 28/07/2007 22:47

Dp's beard trimmer comes in handy for a quick trim and thin

Beauregard · 28/07/2007 22:47

Haven't the heart to tell him he is wearing half my fanjo on his face

SixKindsOfCrisis · 28/07/2007 22:49

GrinGrin

LeafTurner · 28/07/2007 22:50

You can actually BUY your own trimmer you know - I have a very nice one !

Beauregard · 28/07/2007 22:51

Nah sod that wouldn't be as much fun, lol.

UCM · 28/07/2007 22:53

Well I would say Veet for sensitive skin. I told Dh recently that they would dry shav him for his vasectomy and told him to use this for his nads & stuff, and he didn't complain. HTH

yelnats · 28/07/2007 22:54

I had my own til I attempted to tidy up at 9 months pregnant - and while lifting one leg up on to the loo in an attempt to see under my bump to see down below it fell down the pan!! My own trimmer no more. Haven't had the time since - doesnt get any action these days so why bother.

yelnats · 28/07/2007 22:55

Anyone tried the new Veet in shower hair removal cream? I quite fancy giving that a go for down below and my legs.

LeafTurner · 28/07/2007 22:58

Yes - it's quite good actually !

nooka · 28/07/2007 22:59

I think the "all off and smooth" approach is really iffy. Why is there this wish to look like a little girl? Now I'd understand a little bit more if men did it too, but with very rare (and probably deeply kinky) exceptions they don't. I trim the bits that stick out of my swimming costume because I have very pale skin and very dark hairs, but if I had a swim suit that covered that area up, then I wouldn't bother. Unless you really dislike it yourself, then leave it alone.
