I cannot be arsed to go into how or why but he has done it. Is there any product that puts enamel back on to a scratched toilet? Because it looks like something out of The Young Ones now.

Inside the bowl? I doubt it.

Idreamofdaleks · 12/05/2007 14:27

Was it motivated by revenge

foxinsocks · 12/05/2007 14:32

there's a product that does that for baths (recoats the enamel).

FrannyandZooey · 12/05/2007 14:52

FIS is there?

IDOD no I think plain stupidity

moondog · 12/05/2007 14:53

OMG

Talk about toxic waste.
The only answer is immediate separation.

RustyBear · 12/05/2007 14:55

Any good?

MMooMar · 12/05/2007 15:02

Could try Plumbworld, there is one product for use on toilets etc,if it would work inside the bowl is another thing .Could email them and ask though.DP is out at the minute but will ask him if he knows of any thing when he gets back (he`s a plumber)

link is not working visa mumsnet but if you type it into the browser it works(might be me doing something wrong no doubt)

www.plumbworld.co.uk
Then type in repair on the search,

Might be the same stuff as RBear has linked to.

MMooMar · 12/05/2007 15:03

" visa "? Sorry meant via must have shopping on the mind .

FrannyandZooey · 12/05/2007 15:08

Thank you chaps

that looks FAR too complicated to consider

moondog he has been a twat I will concede but his poo is not capable of removing the enamel from a toilet

there was an implement involved

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 12/05/2007 15:12

MMooMar those products look good (if a little complicated) but I can't imagine how we would empty out the water from the toilet for a start? I am sure there is a way but OH GOD what a PAIN

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 12/05/2007 15:14

Buy a new toilet.

foxinsocks · 12/05/2007 15:15

it was a faff (re-enamelling the bath) but if it is only a few scratches, it probably wouldn't be that bad. It's not that difficult to get the water out of the loo.

Ceolas · 12/05/2007 15:17

Just turn off the water and flush. That will get rid of all the water.

Buying a new one wouldn't be that expensive

SoupDragon · 12/05/2007 15:19

That won't empty the water from the bowl, just the cistern.

FrannyandZooey · 12/05/2007 15:23

It is many, deep, scratches

he has just read this thread and is muttering ominously

OP posts:
scatterbrain · 12/05/2007 15:24

I am suspecting use of coat hanger here to clear blockage ???

FrannyandZooey · 12/05/2007 15:29

nope (although I tried that myself last year on MNers advice )

he claims it was a legit toilet unblocking device, which apparently has a metal end and needs to be vigorously shoved in and out of the bowl

I did find it rather suprising that a commercial toilet unblocker had a scratchy metal part on the end of it but still

come to think of it I have not SEEN said device only witnessed the aftermath

OP posts:
scatterbrain · 12/05/2007 15:30

hmmmmm - sounds dodgy to me ! IF it was bona fide product I should think you would have good case to claim against them for the damage !!

Poor dh !

SoupDragon · 12/05/2007 15:31

Your house insurance may cover you.

I can't imagine a legitimate device which would gouge chunks out of the bowl either. Where did he get this "device"?

Ceolas · 12/05/2007 15:31

But if you flush the toilet and there is no water in the cistern, surely that will empty the bowl?

FrannyandZooey · 12/05/2007 15:32

I suspect it is a drain unblocker and he has decided to have a go with it in the toilet as well

he is conveniently out right now so I cannot subject him to further questioning

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 12/05/2007 15:33

oooooooh

do you think we might be covered for a new toilet? Because I fkn hate this one

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 12/05/2007 15:33

No, the cistern is sealed off from the bowl until you flush. When you flush, the water is released whcih pushes the dirty water from the bowl down the pipe and the cistern seals and refills for next time.

Ceolas · 12/05/2007 15:36

this might solve your problem

FrannyandZooey · 12/05/2007 15:47

If only the rest of the frickin toilet was white
