I have an Oioi Messenger and it's fantastic - even DP doesn't mind carrying it. It cost about £50 from Purple Dudahs.

GirlySquare · 12/05/2007 18:26

I want one of these! storksak

I'm with you, kneehigh, I marvel at my friend (with 3.5 & 5 month old, same as me) and her leather radley envelope shoulder bag with 1 nappy and travel pack of wipes. I HAVE to carry all that stuff cos I have a baby that sicks all over himself so he's soaking wet and a pre-schooler who poos in his pants & trousers plus wees right down to his socks. And I like to be self-sufficient so I can keep them both happy and occupied wherever I am (e.g. drink, snack, dentinox, book). But god I am so sick of toting it all everywhere!
Reason I buy changing bags is so they'll hang on the pushchair and not off me!

BTW, capt dippy, little company ones are quite large, come in nice colours and pretty funky, have a look on ebay.

Cheers guys - lots to think about .... Keep those suggestions coming .....

Right, question for the Skip hop owners out there (that's you KHIN!! ) ...... Looked at their website last night & liked what I saw; except, I worked out the dimensions and the bag seems very narrow - Is that a problem?? I use cloth nappies for DD's 2 & 3 - so need ltos of space to store them in the bag ..... Do you think the Skip Hop would be appropriate for this??

Can't believe how difficult it is proving to find a funky change bag with neough room .......

I have put 2 pictures of my bag one of what I have in it at the moment and the other to sow that it does still close.

inside my nappy bag

I have bum cream in one of the outside pockets plus there is still loads of room inside it for clothes etc, there are special bottle holding bit's on either side, plus more inside pockets.
I think mine is great so strong as it is canvas and I still keep finding new pockets

and it still closes

Hope this helps.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 14/05/2007 11:40

Kneehighinnappies - aren't you worried you're gonig to run out??

Kneehighinnappies · 14/05/2007 11:43

My dt's go through a packet of 24 in 2 days!
And having all the nappies in the bag means that there are not hundreds of packets hanging round my house making it more of a shit tip than it already is

I know you all think I am nut's but it works for me

Kneehighinnappies · 14/05/2007 11:46

Oh and it save's me having to pack it every time we go out.

Lazycow · 14/05/2007 11:55

ffs who has enough of 1 nappy!.

Ds has been known to do 3 poos in 2 hours and he almost ALWAYS does two poos a day which means if we are out all day I need at least two nappies and 1 spare for emergencies. If I had two kids like him my bag would look a lot like keehighinnappies one.

I don't carry a drink any more though and a babybel and a banana don't take up much room in the bag. Change of clothes essential though. One of my friends is a very minimalist type but I am always having to lend her tops, trousers, wipes etc when we are out. Once she even came out to the park without any nappies!! - needless to say my ds did his usual poo which needed changing and so did her ds.

Luckily I had more than one nappy otherwise we'd have had to go home and not stop for our post-park starbucks coffee & cake - what a disaster that would have been

Cpt Dippy, think the dash might be wider, have a look on the skip hop site again. And the expo I think from memory opens up at the bottom so fits more in than the duo. I owned a duo and resold as I found too small and it let the rain in which annoyed me (I hung it on my buggy).
Caboodle quite capacious too.
I don't know what's more tragic, that kneehigh took photos of the inside of her changing bag or that I was interested enough to have a look

ScottishMummy · 14/05/2007 14:34

ScottishMummy · 14/05/2007 14:39

yeah - agree any cool tote bag can do the job too. lotsa luvverly ones in top shop, primark, new look

ScottishThistle · 14/05/2007 14:39

Kneehighinnappies, are you 1becomes3?...If so how are your dt's & how are you getting on?

slalomsuki · 14/05/2007 14:40

I am a big fan of Kipling bags and they do a changing bag version which you can sometimes get on ebay.
I also bought a very large Red Castle sport changing bag with a mat attached from the same company that sell grobags when I had ds2. It was great for both of them and it was a rucksack which I could carry with me.

I used to be a Radley type changing bag, one nappy and one wipe but oh how I learned that lesson!!!

ScottishMummy · 14/05/2007 14:44

like their cake's too does the icing on yer cake not bash when u squash the nappies in

Kneehighinnappies · 14/05/2007 15:20

Yes its true ScottishThistle, it is I the artist formally know as 1becomes3.
Thought a name change was the way to go seemed so appropriate for some reason

The DT's are good as gold (well as much as they can be at 7 weeks)
Is complete madness with the DC's but i'm loving every minute

ScottishThistle · 14/05/2007 15:48

Glad to hear you're all getting on great even if your carrying a changing bag which weighs 15kg!

Kneehighinnappies · 14/05/2007 16:00

I'm not that silly DH carries it

ScottishThistle · 14/05/2007 16:03

Even better!

ThomCat · 14/05/2007 16:07

There's no such thing as a change bag. Just buy a bag you like and shove stuff in it that you need.

My 'change bags' consist of a leather bag from River Island, a velvet/sequin thing from Monsoon, a net/sequin bag from a boutique in Paris, a plastic thing from Primark, and so on, ...you get my drift!

CaptainDippy · 14/05/2007 21:47

Thank you for more helpful suggestions guy - esp KHIN - the pics were v.helpful, I'll show them to DH when he gets home & see what he says .......

Decisions, Decisions ....
