thought that looked cheap if anyone is looking for a zapp

OP posts:

So what is the etiquette if you meet soeone else with an orange Zapp? Do you assume they are an MNer and make conversation accordingly? I haven't spotted any other oranges out and about, but have my eyes peeled at all times.

fryalot · 01/05/2007 21:03

well, I spotted another orange one on Sunday, and gave them a "hello, we have the same pushchair, are you an mn-er" smile (if you can picture that ) and he (for the dad was pushing it!) looked at me like I was an imbecile.

Was a tad embarrassing, as it was at the market and you know you go up an aisle, down an aisle, up an aisle.... well, I saw them on the first aisle and had to acknowledge them every time

So if that was any of you.... sorry

LittleEgg · 01/05/2007 21:04

I was gutted that the only time I saw an Orange Flash I had my crusty Quest, so although I tried very hard to make eye contact with the Flash Zapp mum, she overlooked me because I was looking so common. I DID have my MN tote bag though, but she didn't notice. Her Zapp looked brand new.

Bonkerz - did the parent at toddler group get an orange one from Boots? Are they back in stock again????????

bonkerz · 01/05/2007 21:06

They were back in stock Friday apparently but not for long!

MuffinMclay · 01/05/2007 21:11

Pretty sure neither of those Zapp users were me

Mine contains a scruffy, snotty, food-stained boy. Feels free to say hello if you see me.

LittleEgg · 01/05/2007 21:13

Bloody hell. The world is going to be flooded with the little orange lads. So how on earth, if they keep getting more in, did they insist they couldn't send you another?

Squonk - the man probably thought you were trying to pull him and was actually giving you the "not in front of the wife" glare. He probably slipped his number into the hood of your Zapp when you were passing each other for the eighth time.

LittleEgg · 01/05/2007 21:21

Mum - somehow missed the fact you are going to MALTA in a few weeks. Very . Grrr. When we went on hols last October with the crusty Mclaren, there were a family with a Zapp, and both of us had to put our pushchairs in the hold. I remember looking at them jealously because they had a Zapp, but then we folded ours quickly as we were boarding and passed it to the airline staff, and they spent aaaaaaages trying to fold theirs before getting on.

Maybe it was Soupy?

mumto3girls · 01/05/2007 21:26

Oh no LittleEgg, I'll have to practise folding it!!!!

bonkerz · 01/05/2007 21:27

I find my zapp really easy to fold, no problems at all and ssssooooo much easier than my zooper!!
Have added pics to my profile of a very happy little girl in her trendy zapp!!!

mumto3girls · 01/05/2007 21:30

Bonkerz..she is gorgeous and looks sooo happy in her Zapp!!!

bonkerz · 01/05/2007 21:34

thankyou! She is definately happy with her new pushchair and just looks so comfy in it! Even fell asleep in it round town today!

FirstAtForty · 01/05/2007 21:39

LittleEgg and Squonk - I can't I can't I can't - DP is starting to use phrases like 'pram park' to describe our house already. And they are probably out of stock. And I have a newish Techno so no real justifiable advantage in getting a Zapp as well... unless I can say I need one as my Badge of Mumsnet [hopeful] . Don't think that one will wash though .

Oh and apologies for my earlier gaffe, it's not orange, it's mandarin of course god as a fully paid up member of the sisterhood of pram addiction I can't believe I forgot that, even if momentarily...

katzg · 01/05/2007 21:59

hello fellow zapper's,

i can fold my zapp quicker than my old pilko or mamu and put it up again, DH on the other hand curses folding it!

DD2 loves it and holds onto the silver bars when she riding in it.

fryalot · 01/05/2007 22:03

bonkerz · 01/05/2007 22:16

Then again maybe she is just full of all the bad things from the foods i give.....a life full of fruit shoots, cheese strings, crisps, processed foods, chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fryalot · 01/05/2007 22:18

We have got to 669 posts without anyone being rude or nasty to anyone else although I did manage to almost upset SMS, but I hadn't forgotten her so I think we're ok

Does this deserve an award?

And should there be some "I've got a quinny so there [sticks tongue out emoticon]" merchandise, Littlelapin?

fryalot · 01/05/2007 22:18

bonkerz - if that is the smile you get from drinking froot shoots and chocolate, I'm off to buy some for mine

bonkerz · 01/05/2007 22:20
