Help - please from anyone willing to post item for me!

I have found a fab item in the Argos sale which ends on Friday and it is out of stock for home delivery and out of stock in all the Argos stores in Northern Ireland so was wondering whether if I checked it was in stock in a store in England would someone be willing to collect it for me and post it to me- of course I would reimburse! If you could let me know where you are I can do a quick check in the nearest store to you and see if its in stock and reserve it. Hope that makes sense! And thanks if you can!

Tried Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Banbury, Northampton, Bicester, Bedford and Rugby - out of stock at all.

Sorry for jumping in, but I suspect that when the website says "This item can be reserved for store pick up" it just means it can normally, not necessarily that there are any in stock anywhere right now. Judging by the fact that you can't say "search for a store with stock", and you can only check one store at a time, I'd guess that the system on the website has no way of knowing whether there are any in stock anywhere - it only knows the central mail order depot doesn't have any. There might be one or two sitting in an argos somewhere, but there might not.

when I rang woollies about fancy dress clothes at christmas, they were able to access all their stores, to tell me where something was in stock, much better system

I used to have commercial dealings with Argos .... try ringing their head office in Milton Keynes (sorry don't have the number) and ask to speak/be put through to the toy buyer or toy buying department. If you get the right person on the right day they may be able to magic something for you. If that fails try to get through to the toy stock controller ... their system will be a lot more sophisticated than the online one and they will know if it's in stock anywhere. Worth a try.

Thanks everyone. In understand what you are saying Tech but that doesnt explain why other items are unavailable instore and online! Will try phoning head office and see what I can do - having hard time finding the number tho.

I have just checked Plymouth and all the 'nearby' stores (Exeter, Launceston, Newton Abbot, Torquay, St Austell, Truro, Newquay, Falmouth & Barnstaple) but to no avail. Sorry
