Little guy is in 2 piece stuff as he is a little porker and too long in the leg for most baby gros with feet in them and too small to go up too many sizes... plus we're in cloth naps a bit of the time.
Socks don't stay on
What the hell do I use? Is there a sock
I heard baby gap socks were good, is it worth the trek and ethic moral conscience (sweat shops in China, child labour yada) just to find a pair of bloody socks?

towelling are only ones that stay on (unfortunately)

Kif · 30/03/2007 16:38

nope.

SherlockLGJ · 30/03/2007 16:38

Gap were the only ones that worked for me.

ProfYaffle · 30/03/2007 16:38

My mum bought me (well, dd2) some called Soggs, they were packaged in an egg box but they're great for staying on. No idea where she got them from though, sorry.

BettySpaghetti · 30/03/2007 16:39

I used Daisy Roots over socks if ever they needed to keep their feet warm. They stay on really well

It's the begining of training you for a lifetime of picking things up after your DS.. Seriously though if you think he is getting cold you could consider tights...

Piffle · 30/03/2007 16:41

even towelling ones that seem really snug just slide off...
Mmm might give bobux type things a try, I think they do some newborn wrap ones that are dead soft
forgot about that option in my post natal haze

BefnalBunny · 30/03/2007 16:41

i've heard gap are the best stayers too

ProfYaffle · 30/03/2007 16:42

Also saw these the other day, no idea if they work though.

DeviousDaffodil · 30/03/2007 16:43

The towelling ones from Next I found stayed on the best.

mrsjohnsim · 30/03/2007 16:43

yep babygapsocks are the best, sorry

Dinosaur · 30/03/2007 16:43

Gap ones were the biz, nothing else worked.

MuffinMclay · 30/03/2007 16:45

Gap ones were (and still are) the only ones that have ever stayed on ds's feet. IMO Next ones are the worst offenders for falling off.

fizzbuzz · 30/03/2007 16:47

My dd had some long socks from M&S, they stayed on.

Or, put some Daisy Root shoes on, they make the sock stay on (or not in my case as dd pulls them off to chew, but you get my drift)

glassslipper · 30/03/2007 16:49

my dd has had barefeet and a blanket since birth. she is wearing her first pair of socks today at nearly 4 months.

Piffle · 30/03/2007 16:50

ok have bought soggs and some of those in the link
Wish me luck and I'll report back.
those in the link lok the bizzo IMO

another vote for GAP socks, but don't bother with the newborn size, we started with 6 - 12 months...but not the ones behind the tills, the ones that come in a pack of 2 hanging up with the clothes!!

or wear tights...you can get blue or white or red that wouldn't be too girly for your ds, lol

about the daisy roots and similar - depends on how big his feet are - dd3 has a pair of 0 -6 months and they still dont stay on her feet, lost one ages ago as it slipped off when she was in the buggy and never found it again.....

LilRedWG · 30/03/2007 16:52

Osh Kosh are good too.

potoroo · 30/03/2007 16:53

Another vote for Gap...

ProfYaffle · 30/03/2007 17:02

Ooh, I suddenly feel culpable now, hope they work

Piffle · 30/03/2007 17:03

I'll send em back and complain if they don't!

OP posts:
Kif · 30/03/2007 17:29

and don't get me started on baby shoes.

They should have a 'will spontaneously dissapear, never to be recovered, if taken outside' warning on them.

thehairybabysmum · 30/03/2007 17:31

unbelieveably tesco ones do too, osh kosh were good ones too but my boots has stopped doing osh kosh now.
