I have the blue ones....AND the pink ones! Well, I find the bumpy inner soles a bit uncomfortable - and the straps bruised the tops of my feet. Perhaps I am just a sensitive little petal when it comes to shoes. Strangely enough, the blue are comfier than the pink - what's that about then? I am sticking with it 'cos I love them - they are a bit boat-like though aren't they?

they dont fit me
I like the more outlandish ones too

Not in the least bit uncomfortable at all. Nothing like breaking in your DMs Marthamoo, I remember it well, although 10 years later I still have them so it was probably worth it!

I have three pairs, Glacier Gizeh, Pink Madrids and Cream Madrids. I tend to wear the cream madrids most.

When I first got mine they destroyed my feet for a couple of weeks but I did persevere and it was soooooooo worth it. Wear my bright pink Madrids the most this season...

My Birkies have always been heavenly comfortable from the moment I put them on. Maybe yours don't fit properly marthamoo? They tend to be fairly wide fitting - which is fine if you've fat feet like me!

I have a gorgeous pair of blue DM boots which I started breaking in about 7 years ago, and they are STILL not properly comfy. (I rarely wear them, but I know once they are 'done' I will live in them ... maybe this winter, who knows?)
